Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser Opening Actuator
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.

DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-00-010-106-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 78-36-00-010-107-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust-reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-802):

A. Disconnection of the Hydraulic Hose from the Thrust-Reverser Opening Actuator
(1) Remove the nut (9), screw (6), washer (8) and clamp (7) that attach the flexible hose cover (11) to the thrust-reverser opening actuator (5).
(2) Open the end cover to get access to the hose nut (10).
(3) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (12) from the opening actuator (5).

(2) Open the end cover to get access to the hose nut (10).
(3) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (12) from the opening actuator (5).
E. Connection of the Hydraulic Hose to the Thrust-Reverser Opening Actuator
(1) Connect the hose nut (10) to the thrust-reverser opening actuator (5).
(2) TORQUE the hose nut (10) to between 120 and 100 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.13 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-36-00-420-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Connect the hose nut (10) to the thrust-reverser opening actuator (5).
(2) TORQUE the hose nut (10) to between 120 and 100 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.13 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). F. Installation of the Flexible Hose Cover
(1) Put the flexible hose cover (11) over the thrust-reverser opening actuator (5).
(2) Install the clamp (7), the screw (6), the washer (8) and the nut (9) that attach the flexible hose cover to the actuator.
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-up(1) Put the flexible hose cover (11) over the thrust-reverser opening actuator (5).
(2) Install the clamp (7), the screw (6), the washer (8) and the nut (9) that attach the flexible hose cover to the actuator.
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
