Installation of the Thrust Reverser Opening Actuator

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.

DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Subtask 78-36-51-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012)
Subtask 78-36-51-620-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Remove the caps from the opening actuator port.
Subtask 78-36-51-611-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL E. Fill the opening actuator with V10-077 lubricant (engine oil) before installation.
(1) Push the actuator (5) to its fully retracted position.
(2) Connect the hydraulic hand pump IAE1N20009 PUMP HYDRAULIC UNIT-REVERSER C-DUCT directly to the actuator.
(3) Use the hand pump to fill and fully extend the actuator withV10-077 lubricant (engine oil) and bleed off the air.
(4) Remove the hand pump from the actuator.
Subtask 78-36-51-620-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Push the actuator (5) to its fully retracted position.
(2) Connect the hydraulic hand pump IAE1N20009 PUMP HYDRAULIC UNIT-REVERSER C-DUCT directly to the actuator.
(3) Use the hand pump to fill and fully extend the actuator with

F. Install the COVER - BLANKING to the opening actuator port.
4. ProcedureSubtask 78-36-51-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the opening actuator.
(1) Put the opening actuator (5) in position in the mount (15) on the thrust reverser half.
(2) Install the bolt (13), the washer (14), the bushing (16), the washer (20) and the nut (17) which attach the opening actuator (5) to the pylon hinge beam (1).
(3) Install the bolt (4), the washer (18), the bushing (3), the washer (19), and the nut (2) which attach the actuator (5) to the mount (15).
(4) TORQUE the two nuts (2) and (17) to between 255 and 225 lbf.in (2.88 and 2.54 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 78-36-51-620-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the opening actuator (5) in position in the mount (15) on the thrust reverser half.

Subtask 78-36-51-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Bleed the opening actuator system and connect the hydraulic hose to the opening actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-49-400-010).
Subtask 78-36-51-410-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL D. Attach the flexible hose upper and cover to the opening actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-49-400-010).
