BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 78-32-52-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-32-52-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-52-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 78-32-52-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Visual Inspection of the Transcowl Snubber Wear Pads and Forward Frame Transcowl Locators
(2) Do the visual inspection of the wear pads (1) on the transcowl cowl snubbers (2):
(a) Do the visual inspection on each of the six snubbers (2) installed on each half thrust reverser.
(b) Make sure that there are no signs of:
(3) Do the visual inspection of the forward frame transcowl locators (3) and slat clearance panel locator (4):
(a) Do the visual inspection on each of the six forward frame transcowl locators (3) and one slat clearance panel locator (4) installed on each half thrust reverser.
(b) Make sure that there are no signs of:
5. Close-upNOTE: This procedure is given for the left thrust reverser. It is also applicable to the right thrust reverser.
NOTE: You can use an MIRROR - INSPECTION and a LIGHT SOURCE - HIGHPOWER.
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection satisfactorily at the specified inspection standards. (2) Do the visual inspection of the wear pads (1) on the transcowl cowl snubbers (2):
(a) Do the visual inspection on each of the six snubbers (2) installed on each half thrust reverser.
(b) Make sure that there are no signs of:
- Missing wear pads or missing pieces of a wear pad
- Loose or missing fasteners that attach the wear pads to the snubbers
- Wear or contact marks.
(3) Do the visual inspection of the forward frame transcowl locators (3) and slat clearance panel locator (4):
(a) Do the visual inspection on each of the six forward frame transcowl locators (3) and one slat clearance panel locator (4) installed on each half thrust reverser.
(b) Make sure that there are no signs of:
- Missing parts of a locator
- Wear or contact marks.
Subtask 78-32-52-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Manually stow the translating cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-50-410-801).

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).
