B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-30-860-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust-reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Make sure that the left thrust-reverser translating sleeve is extended (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
4. ProcedureCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-30-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Left Thrust-Reverser Cascades - Engine NO. 2
(1) Removal of the protection covers
(2) Install the LH upper cascade (3) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(3) Tighten the bolts (1) on the LH upper cascade (3).
(a) TORQUE the opposite pair of bolts (1) in the center of the LH upper cascade (3) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )

(c) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH upper cascade(3) to the bottom of the cascade to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )

(4) Install the LH middle cascade (4) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(5) Tighten the bolts (1) on the LH middle cascade (4).
(a) TORQUE the opposite pair of bolts (1) in the center of the LH middle cascade (4) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )

(c) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH middle cascade (4) to the bottom of the cascade.

(6) Install the LH lower cascade (5) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the nine bolts (1) and nine washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(7) Tighten the bolts (1) on the LH lower cascade (5).
(a) TORQUE the opposite pair of bolts (1) in the center of the LH lower cascade (5) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Install the LH upper cascade (3) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(3) Tighten the bolts (1) on the LH upper cascade (3).
(a) TORQUE the opposite pair of bolts (1) in the center of the LH upper cascade (3) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )
. NOTE: When you torque the opposite pairs of bolts (1), first torque the forward bolt (1) on the torque box. Then torque the aft bolt on the cascade ring.
(b) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH upper cascade (3) to the top of the cascade to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )
. (c) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH upper cascade(3) to the bottom of the cascade to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )
. (4) Install the LH middle cascade (4) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the 23 bolts (1) and 23 washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(5) Tighten the bolts (1) on the LH middle cascade (4).
(a) TORQUE the opposite pair of bolts (1) in the center of the LH middle cascade (4) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )
. NOTE: When you torque the opposite pairs of bolts (1), first torque the forward bolt on the torque box. Then torque the aft bolt on the cascade ring.
(b) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH middle cascade (4) to the top of the cascade. 1 TORQUE the bolts (1) to between 82.5 and 75 lbf.in (0.93 and 0.85 m.daN )
. (c) TORQUE the bolts (1) in opposite pairs from the center of the LH middle cascade (4) to the bottom of the cascade.

. (6) Install the LH lower cascade (5) on the torque box and the cascade ring. Use the nine bolts (1) and nine washers (2). Do not torque the bolts at this time.

A. Retractation of the Left Thrust-Reverser Translating Sleeve
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Manually retract the left thrust-reverser translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
