A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

A. Detailed Inspection of the Thrust Reverser, Forward Vee Blade

NOTE: This procedure is given for the left thrust reverser. It is also applicable to the right thrust reverser.

NOTE: You can use a LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION, MIRROR - INSPECTION and a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X for inspection.

NOTE: There are three vee blades on the thrust reverser cowl: upper vee blade (1), middle vee blade (3) and lower vee blade (2).

(1) Clean the upper vee blade (1), the middle vee blade (3), the lower vee blade (2) and the surrounding structure with a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
(2) Do the inspection of the upper vee blade (1), the middle vee blade (3), the lower vee blade (2) and their adjacent areas for:

Corrosion damage
Deterioration of the protection
Cracks
Scratches
Dents
Other damages (damages occurred when you open and close the cowls or do movement of the cowls from one engine to the other engine).

(a) If you find damage (corrosion, deterioration of protection, scratches, dents or other damages), contact SAFRAN Nacelles.
