Subtask 78-32-00-010-124-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-00-100-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation before inspection:
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Clean the inspection areas with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) to remove unwanted debris, dirt and grease.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Cascade Ring and Hinge Beam Connection
(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the cascade ring and hinge beam connection. Use the inspection FLASHLIGHT and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(2) Examine the cascade ring assembly and the bolt, washer and nut that attach the cascade ring assembly to the hinge beam.
(a) Look for corrosion, security of attachment and other damage.
(b) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.

C. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Cascade Ring and Latch Beam Connection
(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the cascade ring and latch beam connection. Use the inspection FLASHLIGHT and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(2) Examine the cascade ring assembly, cascade ring fitting and the bolt, washer and nut that attach the cascade ring assembly to the latch beam.
(a) Look for corrosion, security of attachment and other damage.
(b) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
5. Close-up(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the cascade ring and latch beam connection. Use the inspection FLASHLIGHT and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(2) Examine the cascade ring assembly, cascade ring fitting and the bolt, washer and nut that attach the cascade ring assembly to the latch beam.
(a) Look for corrosion, security of attachment and other damage.
(b) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Manually retract the thrust reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).
