   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the applicable system:
     (a) On the overhead panel, on HYD/FUEL panel 40VU
     (b) On the ground service panel of the applicable hydraulic system.
   (2) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
     (a) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
     (b) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
     (a) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
     (b) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

F. Get access
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER TRANSLATING SLEEVE MORE THAN 3.93 IN. (100 MM) WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR ON THE INBOARD SIDE IS OPEN. THE TRANSLATING SLEEVE CAN HIT THE SLATS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
   (1) Open the thrust reverser door to the first notch or sufficient to get access to the track lock cover and track lock (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-31-50-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the TRAS Hydraulic Tubes and Hoses
CAUTION: HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
   (1) Removal of the return hose (5), deploy hose (6) and stow hose (7):
NOTE: The following procedures are for the removal of the left thrust reverser hydraulic tubes and hoses. The right thrust reverser hydraulic tubes and hoses are opposite.
     (a) Remove the two bolts (1), two washers (2) and two nuts (4) that attach the line block (3), line block frame (32), return hose (5), deploy hose (6) and stow hose (7) to the torque box harness disconnect panel.
     (b) Open the line block frame (32) and remove the line block (3), return hose (5), deploy hose (6) and stow hose (7).
     (c) Disconnect the stow hose (7), deploy hose (6) and return hose (5) from the feedback locking actuator.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hoses into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes.
     (d) Disconnect the stow hose (7), deploy hose (6) and return hose (5) from the pylon.
       1 Install the plug (10) on the stow hose (7) B-nut fitting.
       2 TORQUE the plug (10) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN ) T.
       3 Install the plug (9) on the deploy hose (6) B-nut fitting.
       4 TORQUE the plug (9) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
T.
       5 Install the plug (8) on the return hose (5) B-nut fitting.
       6 TORQUE the plug (8) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
T.
       7 Install the CAP - PROTECTION on the pylon interface and feedback locking actuator.
   (2) Removal of the stow tube (11) and return tube (12):
     (a) Remove the five bolts (13) and the five washers (14) that attach the ten clamps (15), the stow tube (11) and the return tube (12) to the torque box gussets.
       1 Remove the ten clamps (15) from the stow tube (11) and the return tube (12).
     (b) Disconnect the stow tube (11) and the return tube (12) from the locking actuator.
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (c) Disconnect the stow tube (11) and the return tube (12) from the feedback locking actuator.
       1 If hydraulic fluid comes out of the feedback locking actuator, collect the leakage into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (d) Remove the stow tube (11) and the return tube (12) from the thrust reverser.
       1 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes, the feedback locking actuator and the locking actuator.
   (3) Removal of the track lock valve supply tube (16):
     (a) Disconnect the track lock valve supply tube (16) from the locking actuator and the track lock valve.
       1 If hydraulic fluid comes out of the locking actuator and track lock valve, collect the leakage into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tube into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       3 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tube, the locking actuator and the track lock valve.
     (b) Remove the track lock valve supply tube (16) from the thrust reverser.
   (4) Removal of the track lock return tube (17):
     (a) Remove the bolt (18) and washer (19) that attach the clamp (20) and the track lock return tube (17) to the harness support electrical bracket. Remove the clamp (20) from the track lock return tube (17).
     (b) Disconnect the track lock return tube (17) from the locking actuator and the track lock return tube (23).
       1 If hydraulic fluid comes out of the locking actuator, collect the leakage into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       3 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes and the locking actuator.
     (c) Remove the track lock return tube (17) from the thrust reverser.
   (5) Removal of the track lock return tube (21), track lock control tube (22) and track lock return tube (23):
     (a) Remove the six bolts (25) and the six washers (26) that attach the six clamps (27), the track lock return tube (21), the track lock control tube (22) and the track lock return tube (23) to the latch beam brackets.
     (b) Remove the six clamps (27) from the track lock return tube (21), the track lock control tube (22) and the track lock return tube (23).
     (c) Disconnect the track lock return tube (21) and the track lock control tube (22) from the track lock valve.
       1 If hydraulic fluid comes out of the track lock valve, collect the leakage into CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) container.
       3 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes and the track lock valve.
     (d) Remove the grommet (24) from the track lock return tube (21), the track lock control tube (22) and the track lock return tube (23) on the outboard aft bulkhead of the torque box.
     (e) Disconnect the track lock return tube (28) from the track lock return tube (21).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes.
     (f) Disconnect the track lock control tube (22) from the track lock control tube (29).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes.
     (g) Disconnect the track lock return tube (23) from the track lock return tube (30).
       1 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Put CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes.
     (h) Remove the track lock return tube (21), the track lock control tube (22) and the track lock return tube (23) from the latch beam and the thrust reverser.
   (6) Removal of the track lock return tube (28), track lock control tube (29) and track lock return tube (30):
     (a) Remove the track lock cover from the latch beam (
Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-000-801).
     (b) Disconnect the track lock return tube (28), the track lock control tube (29) and the track lock return tube (30) from the track locking unit.
       1 If hydraulic fluid comes out of the track locking unit, collect the leakage into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       2 Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tubes into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
       3 Put the CAP - PROTECTION on the ends of the tubes and the track locking unit.
     (c) Remove the grommet (31) from the track lock return tube (28), the track lock control tube (29) and the track lock return tube (30) on the latch beam.
     (d) Remove the track lock return tube (28), the track lock control tube (29) and the track lock return tube (30) from the latch beam and the thrust reverser.
   (7) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
