C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 75-31-04-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) Secondary Unit
   (1) Find the actuator (1) located at the 8 o'clock position.
   (2) Remove the actuator (1) as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC10) connector (P29) from the actuator (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (b) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P12) from the receptacle (J12) and the wiring harness (W04) connector (P11) from the receptacle (J11) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-04-000-801).
     (c) Disconnect the wiring harness (W03) connector (P33) from the receptacle (J33) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-32-21-000-801).
     (d) Remove the nut (6) and bolt (5) that attach the actuator piston to the actuator link.
     (e) Put the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the actuator (1).
     (f) Put the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the actuator (1).
   (3) Disconnection of the tubes
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
     (a) Remove the drain tube (DR23) from the bottom of the actuator (1).
     (b) Remove the servo pressure fuel tube (CP18) from the actuator (1).
     (c) Remove the servo return fuel tubes (CR13) and (CR18) from the actuator (1).
     (d) Remove the two bolts (4) that attach the actuator (1) to the SVA bracket (2).
     (e) Remove the two bolts (3) and remove the SVA bracket (2) from the HPC case.
     (f) Loosen the three captive bolts that attach the actuator (1) to the SVA lever housing.
     (g) Remove the actuator (1) from the engine.
   (4) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent engine damage.
