C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-32-21-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Oil Temperature Probe

CAUTION: DO NOT LET FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL WITH A CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME ENGINE PARTS.

(1) Find the probe (1) attached to the front of the oil control manifold on the left side of the main gearbox at the 9 o'clock position.
(2) Remove the probe (1) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the (W03) wiring harness (4087KS) connector (P33) from the probe (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) under the probe (1) to absorb any remaining oil.
(c) Loosen the two bolts (2) that attach the probe (1) to the manifold.
(d) Turn the probe (1) to disengage the two bolts (2).
(e) Remove the probe (1) from the manifold.
(f) Discard the packing (3) from the probe (1).
(3) Installation of the protection covers

CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
