3. Job Set-up

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

D. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure
Subtask 75-23-10-210-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do an inspection of the gasket assembly (440) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-21-00-918-001).
   (1) Replace the C-seals in the gasket assemblies (130, 200) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-21-00-918-001).
Subtask 75-23-10-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Install the RACC valve as follows:
   (1) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical receptacles, open ports of the RACC valve (10), open ends of the upper and lower air tubes (40, 50) and the open ports of the HPC case.
   (2) Temporarily install the insulation blanket (210) around the RACC valve (10).
NOTE: Do not wirelock the area around the electrical connectors of the insulation blanket (210) at this time.
   (3) Put the RACC valve (10) in position between the upper and lower RACC air tubes (40, 50).
   (4) Lubricate the bolts (150, 170) that attach the RACC valve (10) to the flange with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101)
   (5) Loosely install the bolts (150, 170) and the nuts (160, 180) that attach the RACC valve (10) to the flange.
  • Install the bolts (150, 170) with the heads forward.
  • Do not torque the nuts (160, 180) at this time.
Subtask 75-23-10-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Install the air tubes as follows:
   (1) Install the seals (130, 200) between the RACC valve (10) and the upper and the lower air tubes (40, 50).
NOTE: The old seals (130, 200) can be used again if there is no damage.
   (2) Install the Vee-band clamps (140, 190) between the RACC valve (10) and the upper and the lower air tubes (40, 50).
   (3) Install the Vee-band clamps (140, 190) with the nuts outboard and aft.
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (160, 180) that attach the RACC valve (10) to the flange to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN ) T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (5) TORQUE the nuts that attach the Vee-band clamps (140, 190) to the RACC valve (10) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia
   (6) TORQUE the bolts that attach the upper air tubes (40) to the fifth stage bleed valve to between 230 and 210 lbf.in (2.60 and 2.37 m.daN )
T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (7) TORQUE the bolts that attach the lower air tube (50) to the fan frame to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
Subtask 75-23-10-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Install the fuel manifold as follows:
   (1) Remove the protective covers from the fuel manifolds (60).
   (2) Lubricate the new
AIPC 75-23-10-01-150 O-RINGS (110) and the new AIPC 75-23-10-01-160 O-RINGS (120) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
   (3) Install the new O-rings (110, 120) in the fuel manifold (60).
   (4) Loosely install the fuel manifold (60) on the RACC valve (10).
   (5) Lubricate the fluid bolts (90) and the new AIPC 75-23-10-01-090 O-RING (100) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) and install the new O-ring (100) on the fuel bolts (90).
   (6) Install the fuel bolts (90) into the manifolds (60). TORQUE the fuel bolts to between 30 and 23 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.26 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Tighten the fuel manifold (60) by hand. Wirelock the fuel manifolds (60) with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia
   (8) Lubricate the new
AIPC 75-23-10-01-020 O-RINGS (80) for the drain connectors (70) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070)
   (9) Install the new O-rings (80) in the drain connectors (70).
   (10) Loosely install the drain connectors (70).
   (11) Install the LPTCC fuel manifold as follows:
     (a) Install the new AIPC 75-23-10-01-190 GASKETS (440) on both sides of the fuel manifold (480). And, install the fuel manifold (60) and the LPTCC fuel manifold (450) with the bolts (430) and the nuts (420). TORQUE the nuts to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN ) T.
   (12) Loosely install the clamps (300) that attach the fuel manifolds (60) to the upper bracket with the bolt (290) and the nut (280).
  • Install the clamps (300) with the loops forward.
  • Install the bolt (290) with the head outboard.
  • Do not torque the nut (280) at this time.
   (13) Loosely install the clamps (360) that attach the fuel manifolds (60) to the VSV drain bracket with the bolts (340) and the nuts (350).
  • Install the clamps (360) with the loops forward and outboard.
  • Install the bolts (340) with the heads outboard.
  • Do not torque the nuts (350) at this time.
   (14) Loosely install the clamps (400, 410) that attach the fuel manifolds (60) to the lower air tube (50) with the bolt (370), washer (380) and nut (390).
  • Install the clamp (410) with the loop inboard and aft.
  • Install the clamp (400) with the loop inboard and forward and on top of the clamp (410).
  • Install the washer (380) under the head of the bolt (370).
  • Install the bolt (370) with the head outboard.
  • Do not torque the nut (390) at this time.
   (15) TORQUE the nut (280) that attaches the clamps (300) and the fuel manifolds (60) to the upper bracket to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
   (16) TORQUE the nuts (350) that attaches the clamps (360) to the VSV drain bracket to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
   (17) TORQUE the nut (390) that attaches the clamps (400, 410) to the lower air tube (50) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
   (18) Loosely connect the coupling nut (20) to the drain connector (70).
   (19) Loosely connect coupling nut on the fuel drain manifold (20) to the nipple on the VSV actuator drain manifold.
   (20) Loosely install the clamp (260) that attaches the fuel drain manifold (20) to the tabs on the fuel manifolds (60) with the bolt (220) and nut (230).
  • Install the clamp (260) with the loop outboard.
  • Install the bolt (220) with the head outboard.
  • Do not torque the nut (230) at this time.
   (21) Loosely install the clamp (270) that attaches the fuel drain manifold (20) to the tabs on the fuel manifolds (60) with the bolt (240) and nut (250).
  • Install the clamp (270) with the loop outboard.
  • Install the bolt (240) with the head outboard.
  • Do not torque the nut (250) at this time.
   (22) Loosely install the clamp (330) that attaches the fuel drain manifold (20) to the LPT cooling tube with the bolt (310) and nut (320).
  • Install the clamp (330) with the loop outboard and aft.
  • Install the bolt (310) with the head aft.
  • Do not torque the nut (320) at this time.
   (23) Loosely connect the coupling nut of the fuel drain tube (30) to the drain connector (70). Do not torque the coupling nut at this time.
   (24) Loosely connect the coupling nut of the fuel drain tube (30) to the nipple on the drain manifold (20). Do not torque the coupling nut at this time.
   (25) Tighten the drain connectors (70) by hand. Wirelock the knurled nuts with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (26) TORQUE these nut as follows:
     (a) TORQUE the fuel drain manifold (20) and the fuel drain tube (30) coupling nuts to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
     (b) TORQUE the coupling nut of the fuel drain tube (30) to the nipple on the fuel drain manifold (20) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
     (c) TORQUE the fuel drain manifold coupling nut (20) to the nipple on the VSV actuator drain manifold to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
     (d) TORQUE the nuts (230, 250) that attach the clamps (260, 270) to the fuel manifolds (60) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
     (e) TORQUE the nut (320) that attaches the clamp (330) to the LPT cooling tube bracket to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
     (f) TORQUE the nuts that attach the clamps to the lower air tube (50) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
     (g) TORQUE the nuts that attach the clamps to the upper air tube (40) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T and wirelock with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (27) Connect the electrical connectors, Channel A (5) and Channel B (15) to the RACC valve (10). Tighten the connectors with your hand plus one-eighth of a turn.
   (28) Wirelock the insulation blanket (210) by hand with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.

E. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close thrust reverser cowl doors: (

     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
