4. Procedure
Subtask 75-22-10-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control Valve:
   (1) Installation of the airscoop on the LPTACC valve.
     (a) Put the LPTACC valve (60) on a workbench.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the 4 bolts (50) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (c) Attach the air scoop (40) to the LPTACC valve with the 4 bolts (50) installed at the two mid attachment locations and at the two outer attachment locations.
     (d) TORQUE bolts (50) to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN ) T.
   (2) Installation of the LPTACC valve and airscoop assembly.
     (a) Lubricate the threads of 2 bolts (50) with graphite grease (Material No.
CP2101) .
     (b) Carefully put the valve assembly in position on the engine.
     (c) Attach the LPTACC valve (60) to the bracket (90) with the 2 bolts (50).
     (d) Lubricate the threads of the 2 bolts (30) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) . Attach the air scoop (40) to forward bracket (20) with the 2 bolts (30).
     (e) Lubricate the threads of the 2 bolts (100) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (f) Attach the bracket (90) to the body of the LPTACC valve (60) with the 2 bolts (100).
     (g) TORQUE the bolts (30), (50) and (100) to between 110 and 100 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.13 m.daN ) T.
     (h) Connect drain tube (160) as follows:
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
1 Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
2 Lubricate the drain nipple of the LPTACC valve with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
3 Connect the drain tube (160) to the nipple.
       4 TORQUE coupling nut to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN ) T.
     (i) Attach the fuel manifold (120) to the LPTACC valve assembly (60) as follows :
1 Check for cleanliness of mating surfaces.
2 Make sure that the gasket (130) is serviceable (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-21-00-918-001).
3 Install the gasket (130) lubricated with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) between the fuel manifold (120) and the fuel manifold plate (140).
4 Attach the fuel manifold (120) to the fuel manifold plate (140) with 4 bolts (110), threads lubricated with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
       5 TORQUE the bolts (110) to between 130 and 100 lbf.in (1.47 and 1.13 m.daN ) T.
     (j) Install the clamp (70) which attaches the air tube (80) to the LPTACC valve (60). TORQUE the nut of the clamp to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Remove the blanking caps from the connectors.
     (l) Connect the 2 electrical connectors (10). Use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT if necessary.
