WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

4. Procedure
Subtask 74-21-10-020-063-A
A. General
   (1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.

B. Installation of the No. 2 (Right) Igniter
CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE IGNITION LEADS. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE LEADS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT OIL ON THE IGNITER-TO-IGNITION LEAD B-NUT THREADS. DAMAGE TO THE IGNITION LEAD OR IGNITER CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Install the No. 2 (right) igniter (24).
     (a) Apply an engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the threads and friction surfaces of the No. 2 (right) igniter (24).
     (b) Install the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) into the igniter plug bushing (25).
NOTE: The igniter plug bushing (25) is attached to the igniter plug adapter (26) with lockwire and will not move during installation of the No. 2 (right) igniter (24).
     (c) TORQUE the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) to between 308 and 262 lbf.in (3.48 and 2.96 m.daN ) T.
     (d) Make sure that the ignition lead 2 (23) B-nut and the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) receptacle are clean.
     (e) Install a new
EIPC 74-21-05-01-065 SILICONE WASHER (27) on the insulator at the igniter end of the ignition lead 2 (23).
     (f) Connect the ignition lead 2 (23) to the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE OUTPUT (HIGH TENSION) LEADS ARE CORRECTLY INSTALLED. INSUFFICIENT TORQUE ON THE LEAD NUTS AT THE EXCITER AND IGNITER ENDS CAN CAUSE IGNITION RADIATED NOISE WHICH CAN BE PICKED UP BY AIRCRAFT RADIO EQUIPMENT.
       1 Put the ignition lead 2 (23) ceramic tip into the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) and tighten the ignition lead 2 (23) B-nut hand tight.
       2 TORQUE the ignition lead 2 (23) B-nut to between 297 and 253 lbf.in (3.36 and 2.86 m.daN )

     (g) Put the main igniter cooling shroud (22) halves in position on ignition lead 2 (23) and the No. 2 (right) igniter (24) and attach with the hose clamp (21).
     (h) TORQUE the hose clamp (21) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN )
