D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Push the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch (the ON legend comes on).
   (2) After the FADEC is energized, wait ten seconds before you start the test. If you do not wait ten seconds, the interactive mode stops the EEC self-test and this can cause unwanted faults.
   (3) On the left or right Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU), get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/ENG page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
   (4) Make sure that the landing gear system is not simulated in the flight configuration.
4. Procedure
Subtask 73-29-00-710-081-A
A. Do the ESN Entry Task via the Menu Mode
NOTE: After selecting the MCDU button, it may take approximately ten seconds to transition to the next Menu Mode screen. The ESN entry task function takes approximately two minutes to complete.
NOTE: Obey the instructions shown on the MCDU.
NOTE: The EEC will not enter the menu mode (interactive mode) after an enquire command from the CFDS (Centralized Fault Display System) when any of the following conditions are set:
  • N2 more than ten percent or invalid
  • Rotary selector on CRANK or IGN/START or invalid
  • Manual Start Button on ON or invalid
  • TLA (Throttle Lever Angle) not at idle or invalid
  • Aircraft in the air
  • MASTER lever ON or invalid
  • BITE command code input label invalid.
ACTION
RESULT
1.From the Menu Mode main page, push the key adjacent to LRU IDENT report (3L).
The LRU IDENTIFICATION page is shown.
2.From the LRU IDENTIFICATION page, select the key adjacent to ENGINE S/N CHANGE (5R).
The SERIAL NUMBER ENTRY is shown. See sheet 1 of the figure.
3.On the Serial Number Entry screen:

NOTE: F" = 1 digit engine designation (1 or 2), C" = 1 letter EEC channel designation (A or B)
  • If the serial number data has an incorrect number of engine characters entered, "INCORRECT SERIAL NUMBER ENTERED" will be shown. See sheet 2 of the figure.
  • Enter the 6-digit ESN.

  • Push in the key adjacent to the ENTER NEW SERIAL NUMBER (5R).
  • If the serial number data is correct, "SERIAL NUMBER ENTRY ACCEPTED" will be shown. See sheet 3 of the figure.

  • If there is an issue with EEC NVM, "ECU NVM ERROR, NO S/N ENTRY POSSIBLE" will be shown.
4.Select the key adjacent to RETURN (6L) to return to the Main Menu.
