Installation of the EEC Wiring Harness (WF02)

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).
(2) On maintenance panel 80VU:
(a) Make sure that ON legend on the SVCE INTERPHONE OVRD pushbutton switch is off.

(2) On maintenance panel 80VU:

MAKE SURE THAT THE PROBE HEATER AND WINDOW HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS ARE OPEN BEFORE YOU OPEN THE PHC AND WHC CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
- THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
- THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKERS 2KS1 AND 2KS2 AFTER YOU OPEN THE IGNITION CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF YOU DO NOT, THE CONTINUOUS IGNITION SYSTEM WILL BE ACTIVATED.

D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
Subtask 73-21-62-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the EEC Wiring Harness WF02
(2) Route the harness (WF02) (1) along the engine. See the sheet 1 of the figure:
(3) Connect the harness (WF02) (1) connectors to the engine as follows:
(a) Connect the connector (P402) to the pylon receptacle (J402) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(b) Connect the connector (P406) to the pylon receptacle (J406) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(c) Connect the connector (P79) to the interphone jack receptacle (J79) as follows: See the sheet 2 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(d) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the four bolts (2).
(f) TORQUE the four bolts (2) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(g) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P102) to the harness (WF02) receptacle (J102) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(h) Connect the harness (WF01) connector (P103) to the harness (WF02) (1) receptacle (J103) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(i) Connect the connector (P122) to the T2 probe harness receptacle (J122) as follows: See the sheet 3 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(j) Connect the connector (P1) to the EEC receptacle (J1) as follows: See the sheet 5 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(k) Connect the connector (P9) to the Prognostics and Health Management Unit (PHMU) receptacle (J9) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(l) Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the bracket (14) as follows: See the sheet 6 of the figure:
1 Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (12).
3 TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(m) Wrap the harness (WF02) (1) at the spring clip with EIPC 73-21-62-01-340 TAPE - PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE (3). See the sheets 1 and 3 of the figure:
1 Tape - pressure sensitive adhesive must be in the center of the spring clip.
(n) Wrap the harness (WF02) (1) at the spring clip with EIPC 73-21-62-01-340 TAPE - PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE (3). See the sheets 1 and 7 of the figure:
1 Tape - pressure sensitive adhesive must be in the center of the spring clip.

(o) Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the ten spring clips as follows: See the sheets 1 and 4 of the figure:
1 Start at the middle of the harness (WF02) (1).
2 Position and push the harness (WF02) (1) into the ten spring clips.
3 Make sure that all the spring clips engage with the harness (WF02) (1).
4 Make sure that the tension in the harness (WF02) (1) is sufficient to prevent loose or tight conditions.
(p) Examine the harness (WF02) (1) for contact with engine hardware which can cause chafing.
(q) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Removal of the protection covers CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Route the harness (WF02) (1) along the engine. See the sheet 1 of the figure:
(3) Connect the harness (WF02) (1) connectors to the engine as follows:
(a) Connect the connector (P402) to the pylon receptacle (J402) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(b) Connect the connector (P406) to the pylon receptacle (J406) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(c) Connect the connector (P79) to the interphone jack receptacle (J79) as follows: See the sheet 2 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(d) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the four bolts (2).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(e) Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the bracket with the four bolts (2). (f) TORQUE the four bolts (2) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
. (g) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P102) to the harness (WF02) receptacle (J102) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(h) Connect the harness (WF01) connector (P103) to the harness (WF02) (1) receptacle (J103) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(i) Connect the connector (P122) to the T2 probe harness receptacle (J122) as follows: See the sheet 3 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(j) Connect the connector (P1) to the EEC receptacle (J1) as follows: See the sheet 5 of the figure:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(k) Connect the connector (P9) to the Prognostics and Health Management Unit (PHMU) receptacle (J9) as follows:
1 Examine, align and engage the connector.
2 Push lightly in on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
3 Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
4 Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
5 While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
6 Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(l) Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the bracket (14) as follows: See the sheet 6 of the figure:
1 Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (12).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
2 Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the bracket (14) with the bolt (12) and clamp (13). 3 TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(m) Wrap the harness (WF02) (1) at the spring clip with EIPC 73-21-62-01-340 TAPE - PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE (3). See the sheets 1 and 3 of the figure:
1 Tape - pressure sensitive adhesive must be in the center of the spring clip.
(n) Wrap the harness (WF02) (1) at the spring clip with EIPC 73-21-62-01-340 TAPE - PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE (3). See the sheets 1 and 7 of the figure:
1 Tape - pressure sensitive adhesive must be in the center of the spring clip.

(o) Install the harness (WF02) (1) to the ten spring clips as follows: See the sheets 1 and 4 of the figure:
1 Start at the middle of the harness (WF02) (1).
2 Position and push the harness (WF02) (1) into the ten spring clips.
3 Make sure that all the spring clips engage with the harness (WF02) (1).
4 Make sure that the tension in the harness (WF02) (1) is sufficient to prevent loose or tight conditions.
(p) Examine the harness (WF02) (1) for contact with engine hardware which can cause chafing.
(q) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

D. Test(s)
(1) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).
(2) Do the test No. 7 (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806).
Subtask 73-21-62-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).
(2) Do the test No. 7 (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806).
E. Close Access
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
