Correct Faults of the Engine Scheduled Maintenance Report (SMR)


1. Reason for the Job
Refer to the MPD TASK: 730000-C2
CORRECT FAULTS OF THE ENGINE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE REPORT (SMR).
This task is applicable only for CFM56-5B (SAC) FADEC STD 5.B.I and subsequent OR CFM56-5B (DAC) FADEC STD 5.D.M and subsequent.
You can get access to single channel ALPHA and BETA faults detected during normal mode operation and stored in NVM through the SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE report from the ENGINE 1(2) MAIN MENU. Data for the last 12 faults isolated during the last 64 flight legs is shown on the MCDU in reverse chronological order (the last ones first).
NOTE: Single channel ALPHA and BETA faults detected during menu mode tests are shown on the TEST REPORT screen of the test you did.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 73-21-60-861-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 73-21-60-869-076-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Preparation for test
   (1) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, push then release the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch. The ON legend comes on.
   (2) On the left or right MCDU get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-60-740-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do this procedure for the ECU 1(2) channel A.
NOTE: This test is for the system 1. For the other system(s), use the indications between the parentheses.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the MCDU:

  • Push the line key adjacent to the FADEC 1A (2A) indication.
  • The ENGINE 1(2) MAIN MENU page comes into view.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the SCHEDULED MAINT REPORT indication.
  • The SCEDULED MAINT REPORT ENGINE 1(2) CHANNEL A menu comes into view.
  • If no faults are shown, NO FAULTS RECORDED indication comes into view.
  • If there are faults, they will be shown. If a ">" symbol comes into view at the top right hand corner of the MCDU screen, use the PAGE DOWN key to get more pages of fault data. To find the fault messages, refer to the Trouble Shooting Manual.
  • If there is a NVM failure, the NVM FAULT: DATA NOT RETRIEVABLE indication comes into view.


   (1) Do this procedure for the ECU 1(2) channel B.
   (2) On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
   (3) Stop the MCDU.

A. On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Push the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch. The ON legend goes off.

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
