A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-60-010-102-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

B. Loosen the clamps as required until the area to repair is clear.

Subtask 73-21-60-220-056-A NOTE: This repair only applies on the external heat-shrinkable tubing.
NOTE: Repairs are allowed between attachments points only.
NOTE: Repairs under the attachment points are not permitted.
D. Do a dimensional inspection of the area to repair:
(1) You cannot use this repair procedure if:

- The length of the area to repair is more than 50 mm (1.97 in.) (DIM. A), or
- The distance between the area to repair and the nearest repaired area is less than 35 mm (1.38 in.) (DIM. B + DIM. C), or
- The distance between the area to repair and the nearest attachment point is less than 35 mm (1.38 in.) (DIM. B + DIM. C).
E. Clean the external heat-shrinkable tubing in and around the area to repair with a lint-free cloth (Material No.CP2674) moist with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) SPM 702123 .
Subtask 73-21-60-220-057-A F. Examine the area to repair as follows:
(1) Remove all material on the area to repair.
Subtask 73-21-60-350-053-A (1) Remove all material on the area to repair.
G. Wind the silicone tape 68N red-brown (Material No.CP2939) or the silicone tape 69N black (Material No.CP2940) around the harness branch as follows:
(1) Extend the ribbon 25 mm (0.98 in.) (DIM. B) from the area to repair limits.
(2) Do a 50% overlap while winding.
(3) Continue the winding in the opposite direction with the same overlap.
(4) Finish the winding with one complete turn.
