CAUTION: THIS AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANUAL REPAIR LETS YOU REPLACE ONLY THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER'S HELICAL COIL INSERT(S). IF THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE HOLE(S) AND AN OVERSIZED INSERT IS NECESSARY, THEN YOU MUST NOT DO THE REPAIR ON-WING. YOU MUST REMOVE AND REPAIR THE PART AS PER THE APPLICABLE CLEANING, INSPECTION & REPAIR MANUAL.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure the main fuel line is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-48-000-802).

4. Procedure

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

Subtask 73-11-01-960-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Replacement of the Helical Coil Insert(s) on the Integrated Fuel Pump and Control (IFPC)
(1) Remove the loose or damaged helical coil insert(s) (1) from the IFPC by SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
(2) Install the new EIPC 73-11-01-02-100 HELICAL COIL INSERT (1) by SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
(3) Do a visual inspection of the installed helical coil insert(s) (1) to make sure that the helical coil insert(s) (1) are in the limits of SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
(4) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
(5) Install the main fuel line (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-48-400-802).
