C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Replacement of the Helical Coil Inserts on the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC)
(2) Remove the loose or damaged helical coil insert(s) (1) or (2) from the TEC by SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
(3) Do a visual inspection of the helical coil insert hole(s) for thread damage.
(a) No damage is permitted.
(4) Install a new helical coil insert(s) (1) or (2) to the TEC by SPOP 415. The use of double helical threaded inserts (twinserts) is not permitted. (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803). See the table 1.

(5) Do a visual inspection of the repair area(s) to make sure the helical coil insert(s) (1) or (2) are installed as specified in SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Find the TEC at the rear end of the engine. See the sheet 1 of the figure (2) Remove the loose or damaged helical coil insert(s) (1) or (2) from the TEC by SPOP 415 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803).
(3) Do a visual inspection of the helical coil insert hole(s) for thread damage.
(a) No damage is permitted.
(4) Install a new helical coil insert(s) (1) or (2) to the TEC by SPOP 415. The use of double helical threaded inserts (twinserts) is not permitted. (Ref. AMM TASK 70-24-00-910-803). See the table 1.
