WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

4. Procedure

A. Visual Inspection of the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) Assembly
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Put a MAT - PROTECTIVE inside the engine exhaust to protect the inside surfaces.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the TEC assembly for damage. Use a FLASHLIGHT or other light source to look inside the engine exhaust and, if necessary, for inspection of the external TEC surfaces.
   (3) For this inspection procedure, the permitted damage limits for the TEC are listed in Table 6.
   (4) Do a visual examination of portions of the TEC module outside metal surfaces, rear mount lugs, bushings, external areas and flanges for cracks, nicks, dents and other damage. See Table 6 for service damage limits.
   (5) Where possible, visually inspect the TEC inside metal gas path duct and struts for nicks, dents, cracks and damage. See Table 6 for service damage limits.
