Installation of the Hanger Fitting
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-05-010-052-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 72-24-05-010-053-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

Subtask 72-24-05-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Hanger Fitting (1)
(1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(2) Install the hanger fitting (1) in the correct position on the fan case (2).
(3) Lubricate the threads of the eight nuts (3), four screws (4) and two bolts (6) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(4) Install the two bolts (6) to attach the hanger fitting (1) to the strut 1 outer fitting (5) and tighten them with your hand.
(5) TORQUE the two bolts (6) to between 120.8 and 109.3 lbf.in (1.37 and 1.24 m.daN )

(6) Install the four screws (4) to attach the hanger fitting (1) on the fan case (2) and tighten by hand.
(7) TORQUE the four screws (4) to between 84.00 and 76.00 lbf.in (0.95 and 0.86 m.daN )
.
(8) Apply the CA1010 Mastinox chromate free jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) over the entire barrel, thread and under the head of the bolts (3).
(9) Install the eight nuts (3) to attach the hanger fitting (1) to the fan case (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(10) TORQUE the eight nuts (3) to between 102.0 and 92.4 lbf.in (1.15 and 1.04 m.daN )

(11) Clean excess of CA1010 Mastinox chromate free jointing compound (Material No.CP2773) with dry cloth around bolts and nuts and also on the containment case and fan frame shroud faces.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(2) Install the hanger fitting (1) in the correct position on the fan case (2).
(3) Lubricate the threads of the eight nuts (3), four screws (4) and two bolts (6) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(4) Install the two bolts (6) to attach the hanger fitting (1) to the strut 1 outer fitting (5) and tighten them with your hand.
