SPM 704111 to Para 4.A. ”Dimensional Information”:
(a) The blended area must make a smooth contour into the adjacent areas to keep correct airflow.
SPM 704112 to Para 4.A. ”Dimensional Information”:
(a) The blended area must make a smooth contour into the adjacent areas to keep correct airflow.
(3) If the minimum acceptable distance between two repaired areas is less than 40 times the DIM. N, mix them to get only one repaired area.
Subtask 72-24-03-110-051-A WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. METAL PARTICLES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE, INJURY OR IRRITATION.
WARNING:
DO NOT LET TITANIUM DUST COLLECT. TITANIUM DUST IS FLAMMABLE. DO NOT USE WATER TO EXTINGUISH A TITANIUM FIRE. EXTINGUISH WITH AN APPROVED CHEMICAL FOR METAL FIRES.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU DO THE BLENDING, REMOVE ONLY THE MINIMUM QUANTITY OF MATERIAL NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE DEFECT. IF YOU REMOVE TOO MUCH MATERIAL, DAMAGE TO THE PART CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BLEND TITANIUM PARTS WITH TOOLS (SUCH AS GRINDING WHEELS, FILES, STONES OR ABRASIVE CLOTH) USED TO REPAIR OTHER MATERIALS.
(1) Alternative procedure available. Remove the indication by hand blending. (a) The blended area must make a smooth contour into the adjacent areas to keep correct airflow.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU DO THE POWER BLENDING, MAKE SURE THAT THE BLADE DOES NOT BECOME TOO HOT, WHICH WILL CAUSE THERMAL STRESS. THERMAL STRESS CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE.

(1) Use sensitivity level 2.
(2) Standard unit surface: 25 mm (0.98 in.) x 25 mm (0.98 in.) inspection field.
(3) Indications less than 0.30 mm (0.0118 in.) are not to be taken into account.
(4) Indications greater than 1.5 mm (0.059 in.) are not permitted.
(5) Dimension of the satisfactory indications to count: from 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) to 1.5 mm (0.059 in.). Maximum number of satisfactory indications to count: 10.
(6) Minimum spacing between two indications should be greater than or equal to three times the size of the largest indication. Otherwise, they are considered as forming only one indication. If there are more than two aligned indications, to determine the spacing, take the largest real dimension of the indications bounding this interval.
(7) The minimum spacing between 2 H level clusters must be greater than or equal to 20 mm (0.79 in.).
