(2) Look for possible damage to the front spinner and front platform shroud exposed areas (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-210-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-60-210-801).
(3) Examine the general condition of the fan rotor blades (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-20-210-802).
(4) Look for possible damage to the forward acoustic shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-03-210-801).
(5) Through the fan rotor blades, look for possible damage to:
(b) The leading edge of fan Inlet Guide Vanes (IGVs) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-00-210-803).
(c) The flow splitter and flowpath panel (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-02-210-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-01-210-802).

(e) The abradable flowpath (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-01-210-801).
(6) Remove the MAT - RUBBER from the powerplant inlet cowl.
5. Close-upNOTE: You must do a visual inspection of the fan section area (primarily, the front end of the fan section) after the engines have operated in bad icing conditions.
NOTE: This inspection can be done with the fan cowl and thrust reverser cowl doors closed. If necessary, use an LIGHT SOURCE - TORCH (flashlight) to look rearwards through the fan rotor blades.
(1) Put a MAT - RUBBER, in the powerplant inlet cowl before you go into it to do this inspection. If necessary, use a flashlight for a better lighting aft of the fan rotor blades.
NOTE: If necessary, (dim lighting conditions) use a flashlight.
(a) The leading edge of fan Outlet Guide Vanes (OGVs) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-20-210-801). (b) The leading edge of fan Inlet Guide Vanes (IGVs) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-00-210-803).
