Subtask 71-61-12-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the T2 Probe
(1) Removal of the protection covers:
(2) Installation of the T2 probe (1):
(a) Loosely install the T2 probe (1) on the inlet-cowl inner barrel with the four nuts (6).
(b) Adjust the T2 probe (1) until it is in the center of the hole in the inlet-cowl inner barrel. Make sure that the T2 probe (1) does not touch the edge of the hole in the inlet-cowl inner barrel.
(3) TORQUE the four nuts (6) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in opposite pairs.
(4) Attach the ground wire (4) to the T2 probe (1) as follows:
PU1-0003 abrasive paper, 220-Grit .
(b) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl
(c) Remove thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
(d) Brush Bonderite M-CR 1132 Aero (Material No.PU2-0003) on the faying surface. Apply two coats of Bonderite M-CR 1132 Aero (Material No.PU2-0003) . Allow the first coat to dry before you apply the second coat. Apply the second coat 90 degrees from the direction of the first coat. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(f) TORQUE the nut (5) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )
.
(g) Measure the resistance between the ground wire (4) lug and the nut (5). Make sure that it is less than 0.0025 ohms. If the resistance is more than 0.0025 ohms, remove bolt (2), two washers (3) and nut (5) and repeat steps 4.A.(4)(a) thru 4.A.(4)(g) again.
(6) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the wiring harness (D1000P) connector and the T2 probe.
(7) Connection of the connector to the T2 Probe.
(b) Turn the connector finger-tight.
(c) Turn the connector one quarter of a turn more with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(8) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
5. Close-up(1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
