A. Safety Precautions
(1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Remove the insulation covers from the forward Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) duct and the engine anti-ice housing (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
(3) Disconnect the forward NAI duct from the inlet cover anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Remove the insulation covers from the forward Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) duct and the engine anti-ice housing (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
(3) Disconnect the forward NAI duct from the inlet cover anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-807).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-61-00-220-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Engine Air Intake Ice Protection Swirl Nozzle
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Remove the inner and outer engine anti-ice housings and two seals from the engine anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-000-801).
(3) Remove the anti-ice access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-14-000-801).
(4) Do a detailed visual inspection of the engine anti-ice duct.
(a) Use the FLASHLIGHT and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(b) Examine the inner and outer engine anti-ice housings. Look for nicks, scratches, loose or missing fasteners and other damage.
1 If you find damage, replace the part or contact UTAS for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-400-801).
(c) Examine the two seals. Look for cracks, gouges and holes.
1 If you find demage replace the parts or contact UTAS for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-400-801).
(d) Examine the engine anti-ice duct. Look for dents, holes, cracks, loose or missing fasteners and other damage.
1 If you find damage, replace the parts or contact UTAS for disposition (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-400-801).
(5) Install the anti-ice access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-14-400-801).
(6) Install the inner and outer housings and the two seals on the engine anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-400-801).
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure that there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.

(4) Do a detailed visual inspection of the engine anti-ice duct.

(6) Install the inner and outer housings and the two seals on the engine anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-15-400-801).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Attach the forward NAI duct to the inlet cover anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-807).
(3) Install the insulation covers on the forward NAI duct and the engine anti-ice housing (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-807).
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
