C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-22-41-420-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Aft -Engine Mount Bolts (one at a time)

Aft Mount Bolt ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: This procedure is applicable to one aft-engine mount bolt.

CAUTION: INSTALL THE BARREL NUT WITH THE ROUNDED SIDE UP. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE BARREL NUT CAN OCCUR.

(1) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-03-060 NUT (6) or the AIPC 71-22-86-04-060 NUT (6) and the AIPC 71-22-86-03-050 RETAINER (7) or the AIPC 71-22-86-04-050 RETAINER (7) in the engine mount.
(2) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-03-020 BOLT (3) or the AIPC 71-22-86-04-020 BOLT (3) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-03-030 WASHER (4) or the AIPC 71-22-86-04-040 WASHER (4).
(3) Apply the MOLYKOTE G-RAPID PLUS PASTE (Material No.360200) :

Below the screw heads
On the screw and nut threads
On the two faces of the washers.

(4) Apply the torque on the aft mount bolts:

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PROTRUSION OF THE BOLT ABOVE THE NUT IS EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN THE DIMENSION OF THE BOLT THREAD CHAMFER. IF THE PROTRUSION IS NOT SUFFICIENT, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE BOLT WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.

(a) TORQUE the aft mount bolts (3) with the 98D71203013000 TORQUE WRENCH SET PW to between 22 and 18 m.daN (162.24 and 132.74 lbf.ft )

(5) Install the locking plate system of the aft engine mount:
(a) Install and attach the AIPC 71-22-86-03-070 LOCK PLATE (2) on the retainer (5) with the AIPC 71-22-86-03-010 SCREW (1).
(b) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
