C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-21-41-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Forward Engine Mount Bolts (One at a time)

NOTE: This procedure is applicable to one forward engine mount bolt.

(1) Install the new EIPC 71-21-86-03-030 BOLT (9), new EIPC 71-21-86-03-040 WASHER (10), new EIPC 71-21-86-03-050 NUT (2) and new EIPC 71-21-86-03-040 WASHER (3).
(2) Apply MOLYKOTE G-RAPID PLUS PASTE (Material No.360200) :

Below the screws heads
On the screws and nuts threads
On the two faces of the washers.

(3) Apply the torque to the forward mount bolts.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PROTRUSION OF THE BOLT ABOVE THE NUT IS EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN THE DIMENSION OF THE BOLT THREAD CHAMFER. IF THE PROTRUSION IS NOT SUFFICIENT, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE BOLT WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.

(a) TORQUE the forward mount bolts (9) with 98D71203013000 TORQUE WRENCH SET PW to between 57.2 and 46.8 m.daN (421.83 and 345.13 lbf.ft )

(4) Install the EIPC 71-21-86-03-100 RETAINER (1) and attach it to the EIPC 71-21-86-03-090 RETAINER BRACKETS (4) with the EIPC 71-21-86-03-020 SCREW (5).
(5) TORQUE the screw (5) to between 0.47 and 0.37 m.daN (41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(6) Install the Locking Plate system of the forward Engine Mount.
(a) Install the EIPC 71-21-86-03-060 LOCKING PLATE (8) and attach it to the EIPC 71-21-86-03-070 RETAINER (11) with the EIPC 71-21-86-03-010 SCREW (7).
(b) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 0.47 and 0.37 m.daN (41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
