B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Do a general visual inspection of the fan cowl door hinges.
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Examine the hinge bolts, washers, and nuts on the fan cowl hinges on the left and right fan cowl doors. Look for cracks, gouges, too much wear, corrosion, or other damage.
(a) If you find damage, replace the damaged hinge pin, washer or nut (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-000-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-400-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
(3) Examine the jumper cables, screws, washers, and nuts on the forward hinges. Look for breaks, too much wear, cracks, gouges, corrosion, or missing parts.
(a) If you find damage, replace the damaged or missing part (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-02-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-02-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
(4) Examine the forward, middle and aft fan cowl hinges and adjacent structure. Look for foreign objects, dents, wear, corrosion, scratches, cracks, gouges, incorrect assembly, or other damage.
(a) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) for allowable damage limits or contact UTAS for disposition.
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Examine the hinge bolts, washers, and nuts on the fan cowl hinges on the left and right fan cowl doors. Look for cracks, gouges, too much wear, corrosion, or other damage.
(a) If you find damage, replace the damaged hinge pin, washer or nut (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-000-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-20-400-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-10-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
(3) Examine the jumper cables, screws, washers, and nuts on the forward hinges. Look for breaks, too much wear, cracks, gouges, corrosion, or missing parts.

(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
