A. Installation of the Fan Cowl Jumper Cable on the Left Fan Cowl Door
NOTE: The following procedures are for the installation of the jumper cable on the left fan cowl door. The jumper cable installation procedure is the same for the right fan cowl door.
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Clean the screw (5) and washer (6) with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent.
   (3) Clean the surface of the pylon bracket with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent.
   (4) Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl from the hardware and the pylon bracket with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free before it dries.
   (5) Attach the lug of the jumper cable (7) to the pylon bracket with the washer (6) and the screw (5).
   (6) Put the washer (6) between the lug and the head of the screw (5).
   (7) TORQUE the screw (5) to between 157.54 and 122.14 lbf.in (1.78 and 1.38 m.daN ) T.
   (8) Measure the resistance between the jumper cable (7) and the washer (6) with the PU10-0021ohmmeter, low resistance.
     (a) Make sure that the resistance is less than 0.0025 ohms.
     (b) If the resistance is more than 0.0025 ohms, remove the hardware and do again step 4.A.(1) thru 4.A.(7).
   (9) Apply a layer of the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.
PU3-0005) to the screw (5), washer (6), the lug of the jumper cable (7) and the surface of the pylon bracket adjacent to the lug of jumper cable (7).
     (a) Make sure the sealant layer is a thickness of approximately 0.020 in. (0.51 mm).
   (10) Clean the surfaces of the forward hinge with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent
   (11) Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free from the surfaces before it dries.
   (12) Make sure there is no paint or primer on the forward hinge under the lug of the jumper cable (7). If there is paint, do the following steps:
     (a) Remove the paint or primer from the forward hinge under the lug of the jumper cable (7) with PU1-0045abrasive paper, aluminum oxide, 220-grit or finer to the bare metal. Remove an area that is 1.5 times larger than the diameter of the lug.
     (b) Clean the surface of the forward hinge with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent until you remove all unwanted material you can see.
     (c) Clean the surface of the forward hinge again with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent. Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free before it dries.
     (d) Clean the surface of the forward hinge with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free one more time.
     (e) Apply a layer of bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) , sealant on the bare metal surfaces. If you apply more than one stripe of the bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant, make the subsequent stripes have a 50% overlap with the stripe you applied before. Let the sealant dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
NOTE: Apply the bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant to the bare metal surface within three hours after you remove the finish on the metal.
NOTE: To make the sealant dry faster, you can increase the temperature of the bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant with warm air or a PU10-0059lamp, infrared to 140 DEG.F (60.0 DEG.C) maximum.
     (f) When the layer of sealant is dry, apply a second layer of bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant. Apply the second layer 90 degrees to the direction of the strokes of the first layer. If you apply more than one stripe of the bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant, make the subsequent stripes have a 50% overlap with the stripe you applied before. Let the sealant dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
NOTE: Apply the second layer of bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant within five minutes after the first layer dries.
NOTE: To make the sealant dry faster, you can increase the temperature of the bonderite M-CR 1132 aero (Material No.PU2-0003) sealant with warm air or a PU10-0059lamp, infrared to 140 DEG.F (60 DEG.C) maximum.
   (13) Clean the screw (1), washers (3) and (2), nut (4) and the lug of the jumper cable (7) as follows:
     (a) Clean the surfaces with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent until you remove all unwanted material you can see.
     (b) Clean the surfaces again with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl or equivalent.
     (c) Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free before it dries.
     (d) Clean the surfaces with a clean, PU1-0001cotton cloth, lint-free one more time.
   (14) Install the screw (1), washers (3) and (2), jumper cable (7) and nut (4) on the forward hinge immediately after cleaning.
     (a) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 130 and 120 lbf.in (1.47 and 1.36 m.daN ) T.
   (15) Measure the resistance between the jumper cable (7) and a surface without primer on the forward hinge with the PU10-0021ohmmeter, low resistance.
     (a) Make sure the resistance is less than 0.0001 ohms.
     (b) If the resistance is more than 0.0001 ohms, remove the hardware and do again steps 4.A.(9) thru 4.A.(14).
   (16) Apply a layer of the PR-1422 (Material No.
PU3-0008) sealant to the screw (1), washers (3) and (2), nut (4), lug of the jumper cable (7) and surface of the forward hinge adjacent to the lug of the jumper cable (7).
     (a) Make sure the PR-1422 (Material No.PU3-0008) sealant layer is a minimum thickness of 0.080 in. (2 mm).
     (b) Make sure you cannot see the hardware after you apply the sealant.
   (17) If you see a metal surface without paint on the forward hinge, do the following:
     (a) Mix the 45GY005 A base primer (Material No.PU4-0024) and the 45GY005 B catalyst (Material No.PU4-0025) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
