Removal of the Fan Cowl Jumper Cables

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

A. Removal of the Fan Cowl Jumper Cable on the Left Fan Cowl Door
(3) Remove the screw (5) and washer (6) that attach the jumper cable (7) to the pylon.
(4) Remove the jumper cable (7).
(5) Carefully remove unwanted sealant from where the jumper cable (7) attaches to the forward hinge with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
(6) Remove the sealant from the screw (1), washers (3) and (2) and nut (4) with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC. Do not scratch the forward hinge.
(7) If necessary, remove the screw (1), washers (3) and (2) and nut (4) that attach the jumper cable (7) to the door hinge.
(8) Remove the jumper cable (7).
NOTE: The jumper cable removal procedure is the same for the right fan cowl door.
(1) With a SCRAPER - PLASTIC, carefully remove the unwanted sealant from where the jumper cable (7) attaches to the pylon bracket. NOTE: The jumper cable (7) is on the forward hinge of the fan cowl.
(2) Remove the sealant from the screw (5) and washer (6) with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC. Do not scratch the pylon bracket. (3) Remove the screw (5) and washer (6) that attach the jumper cable (7) to the pylon.
(4) Remove the jumper cable (7).
(5) Carefully remove unwanted sealant from where the jumper cable (7) attaches to the forward hinge with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
(6) Remove the sealant from the screw (1), washers (3) and (2) and nut (4) with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC. Do not scratch the forward hinge.
(7) If necessary, remove the screw (1), washers (3) and (2) and nut (4) that attach the jumper cable (7) to the door hinge.
(8) Remove the jumper cable (7).
