A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/ MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-56-00-010-060-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
451AL and 452AR
(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
461AL and 462AR.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.
(4) Make sure that the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) - Aft Pylon Fairing (APF) closing assembly is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-806).
(5) Make sure that the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) doors are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL and 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL and 483AR.
Subtask 54-56-00-040-064-A (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.
(4) Make sure that the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) - Aft Pylon Fairing (APF) closing assembly is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-806).
(5) Make sure that the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) doors are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL and 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL and 483AR.
C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-56-00-110-050-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). D. Preparation for the Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If the parts retained from the removed component are dirty, clean them with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If the parts retained from the removed component are dirty, clean them with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 54-56-00-420-060-B
A. Installation of the APF
(a) Put the tension bar (12) in position on the bootstrap fittings (11) and install the quick locking pins (13).
(b) Put the APF (2) in position with the 98D54403004000 R/I PYLON APF (10).
(c) Put the strap (14) through the strainer (18).
(d) Install the hooks (15) on the shackles (16).
(e) Put the plier (17) on the APF leading edge and adjust the strap (14) in the correct direction.
(f) Put the protection (19) around the strainer (18).
(g) Pull the strap (14) to compress the exhaust nozzle seals.
(2) Install the APF (2):
(a) Align the pylon holes with the APF holes.
(b) Install the bolts (11).
(c) TORQUE the bolts (11) to between 10.6 and 8.2 m.N (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(d) Install the washers (5) and the bolts (6).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 16.06 and 13.14 m.N (142.12 and 116.28 lbf.in )
.
(f) Install the washers (3), the screws (4), the washers (10) and the nuts (9).
(g) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 13.8 and 10.6 m.N (122.12 and 93.81 lbf.in )
.
(h) If you removed the forward strips (8):
1 Put the forward strips (8) in position on the APF (2) and hold them.
2 Install the screws (7) and tighten them.
(i) Install the screws (1) and tighten them.
(3) Remove the 98D54403004000 R/I PYLON APF (10) from the APF (2).
(4) Remove the 98D54403010000 RI APF INSTALL SUPPORT from the APF (2) as follows:
(a) Adjust the strainer (18) to release the tension from the strap (14).
(b) Remove the plier (17) from the APF leading edge and release the strap (14).
(c) Remove the protection (19) from the strainer (18).
(d) Remove the hooks (15) from the shackles (16).
(e) Remove the strap (14) from the strainer (18).
(f) Remove the quick locking pins (13) and the tension bar (12) from the bootstrap fittings (11).
Subtask 54-56-00-420-061-A CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Install the 98D54403010000 RI APF INSTALL SUPPORT on the APF (2) as follows:(a) Put the tension bar (12) in position on the bootstrap fittings (11) and install the quick locking pins (13).
(b) Put the APF (2) in position with the 98D54403004000 R/I PYLON APF (10).
(c) Put the strap (14) through the strainer (18).
(d) Install the hooks (15) on the shackles (16).
(e) Put the plier (17) on the APF leading edge and adjust the strap (14) in the correct direction.
(f) Put the protection (19) around the strainer (18).
(g) Pull the strap (14) to compress the exhaust nozzle seals.
(2) Install the APF (2):
(a) Align the pylon holes with the APF holes.
(b) Install the bolts (11).
(c) TORQUE the bolts (11) to between 10.6 and 8.2 m.N (93.81 and 72.57 lbf.in )

(i) Install the screws (1) and tighten them.
(3) Remove the 98D54403004000 R/I PYLON APF (10) from the APF (2).
(4) Remove the 98D54403010000 RI APF INSTALL SUPPORT from the APF (2) as follows:
(a) Adjust the strainer (18) to release the tension from the strap (14).
(b) Remove the plier (17) from the APF leading edge and release the strap (14).
(c) Remove the protection (19) from the strainer (18).
(d) Remove the hooks (15) from the shackles (16).
(e) Remove the strap (14) from the strainer (18).
(f) Remove the quick locking pins (13) and the tension bar (12) from the bootstrap fittings (11).
B. Installation of the Components
(1) Install the RMF doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-400-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL and 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL and 483AR.
(2) Install the RPF - APF closing assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-807).
Subtask 54-56-00-820-056-A (1) Install the RMF doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-400-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL and 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL and 483AR.
(2) Install the RPF - APF closing assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-400-807).
C. Check of the Clearances
(1) Make sure that peripheral clearance J1 between the APF (2) and the RPF - APF closing assembly (1) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(2) Make sure that peripheral clearance J2 between the APF (2) and the pylon box (3) is 3 +2.1 mm or -2.1 mm (0.1181 +0.0827 in. or -0.0827 in.).
(3) Make sure that peripheral clearance J3 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 3 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1181 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(4) Make sure that peripheral clearance J4 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 3 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1181 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(5) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A1 between the APF (2) and the RPF - APF closing assembly (1) is 0 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (0.0000 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(6) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A2 between the APF (2) and the pylon box (3) is 0 +0.7 mm or -0.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0276 in. or -0.0197 in.).
(7) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A3 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 0 +0.7 mm or -0.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0276 in. or -0.0197 in.).
(8) If the values of the peripheral clearances and the out-of-flush dimensions do not agree with the permitted values given, contact Airbus.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that peripheral clearance J1 between the APF (2) and the RPF - APF closing assembly (1) is 3.6 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1417 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(2) Make sure that peripheral clearance J2 between the APF (2) and the pylon box (3) is 3 +2.1 mm or -2.1 mm (0.1181 +0.0827 in. or -0.0827 in.).
(3) Make sure that peripheral clearance J3 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 3 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1181 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(4) Make sure that peripheral clearance J4 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 3 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1181 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
(5) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A1 between the APF (2) and the RPF - APF closing assembly (1) is 0 +0.6 mm or -0.6 mm (0.0000 +0.0236 in. or -0.0236 in.).
(6) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A2 between the APF (2) and the pylon box (3) is 0 +0.7 mm or -0.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0276 in. or -0.0197 in.).
(7) Make sure that out-of-flush dimension A3 between the APF (2) and the RMF door assembly (4) is 0 +0.7 mm or -0.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0276 in. or -0.0197 in.).
(8) If the values of the peripheral clearances and the out-of-flush dimensions do not agree with the permitted values given, contact Airbus.
