3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

D. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

4. Procedure

Alignment of the Aft Centering Pins at RIB5

NOTE: Two person are necessary to install the aft centering pins:

One to hold the wrench head
Another one to hold the wrench handle and apply the torque.

(1) Make sure that the aft centering pins (3) and/or (4) are in the correct condition. If one of the aft centering pins (3) and/or (4) is not in the correct condition discard it and install a new centering pin (3) and/or (4).
(2) Put the aft centering pins (3) and (4) in position.
(3) Install the washers (2) and the new nuts (1).
(4) Make sure that the aft centering pins (3) and (4) are aligned. To do this, put the 98D54503004000 ALIGN CENTRING PINS CFM (5) and (6) into the holes of the centering pins (3) and (4) (in the correct direction).
(5) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 14.7 and 13.3 m.daN (108.41 and 98.08 lbf.ft )

.
(6) Remove the 98D54503004000 ALIGN CENTRING PINS CFM (5) and (6) from the aft centering pins (3) and (4).

(1) Install the engine fire-extinguisher bottle (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001).
(2) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-803):
(a) For the left pylon: 415BL 415BR
(b) For the right pylon: 425BL 425BR.
(3) Install the power plant (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-803).
(4) Close the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):
