A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115 VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2)

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position:

(b) in the zone 420 for the right pylon.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) in the zone 410 for the left pylon,
(b) in the zone 420 for the right pylon.

- on the two sides and are less than 400 mm2 (0.62 in.2): the sum of the maximum depth of the defects on the two sides must be 1.5 mm (0.0591 in.).
- on one side only and is more than 400 mm2 (0.62 in.2): the maximum depth of the defect must be 1 mm (0.0394 in.).
- on the two sides and are more than 400 mm2 (0.62 in.2): the sum of the maximum depth of the defects on the two sides must be 1 mm (0.0394 in.).

5. Close-upCAUTION:
IF YOU FIND CORROSION ON TWO ADJACENT SHACKLES:
- REMOVE THE CORROSION FROM THE SHACKLE WITH LEAST CORROSION ; MAKE SURE THAT DAMAGE IS IN PERMITTED LIMITS.
- REPLACE THE ADJACENT SHACKLE.
CAUTION:
IF YOU FIND CORROSION ON TWO ADJACENT SHACKLES:
(1) Do a detailed inspection of the pylon-to-wing spigot attach-fitting and make sure that the dimensions are correct. - REMOVE THE CORROSION FROM THE SHACKLE WITH LEAST CORROSION ; MAKE SURE THAT DAMAGE IS IN PERMITTED LIMITS.
- REPLACE THE ADJACENT SHACKLE.
