Subtask 52-71-12-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position for the applicable cargo door.
(3) Make sure that access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-000-801).
Subtask 52-71-12-860-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position for the applicable cargo door.
(3) Make sure that access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-000-801).
A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the the applicable cargo door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position for the applicable cargo door.
(3) Make sure that access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR, 826BR and 826CR are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-000-801).
Subtask 52-71-12-865-054-A (1) Make sure that the the applicable cargo door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position for the applicable cargo door.
(3) Make sure that access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR, 826BR and 826CR are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-000-801).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 52-71-12-910-050-A
A. Preparation for the Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the areas between the proximity sensor (23) and the fuselage fitting (24).
(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the area between the target (31) and the target lever (32).
Subtask 52-71-12-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the areas between the proximity sensor (23) and the fuselage fitting (24).
(5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the area between the target (31) and the target lever (32).
B. Installation of the Proximity Switch
(1) Install the proximity sensor (23) as follows:
(a) Put the proximity sensor (23) in position on the fuselage fitting (24).
(b) Install the screws (22), the washers (25) and the nuts (26) and tighten them.
(c) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (21) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (23).
(d) Install the electrical connector (21) on the proximity sensor (23).
(2) Install the target (31) as follows:
(a) Put the target (31) in position on the target lever (32).
(b) Install the screws (30), the washers (33) and the nuts (34) and tighten them.
Subtask 52-71-12-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the proximity sensor (23) as follows:
(a) Put the proximity sensor (23) in position on the fuselage fitting (24).
(b) Install the screws (22), the washers (25) and the nuts (26) and tighten them.
(c) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (21) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (23).
(d) Install the electrical connector (21) on the proximity sensor (23).
(2) Install the target (31) as follows:
(a) Put the target (31) in position on the target lever (32).
(b) Install the screws (30), the washers (33) and the nuts (34) and tighten them.
B. Installation of the Proximity Switch
(1) Install the proximity sensor (23) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the clip nuts (26) are clean and in the correct condition.
(b) If necessary, replace the defective clip nuts (26).
(c) Put the proximity sensor (23) in position on the fuselage fitting (24).
(d) Install the washers (25) and the screws (22).
(e) Tighten the screws (22).
(f) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connector (21) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (23).
(g) Connect the electrical connector (21) on the proximity sensor (23).
(2) Install the target (31) as follows:
(a) Put the target (31) in position on the target lever (32).
(b) Install the screws (30), the washers (33) and the nuts (34).
(c) Tighten the nuts (34).
Subtask 52-71-12-820-051-A (1) Install the proximity sensor (23) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the clip nuts (26) are clean and in the correct condition.
(b) If necessary, replace the defective clip nuts (26).
(c) Put the proximity sensor (23) in position on the fuselage fitting (24).
(d) Install the washers (25) and the screws (22).
(e) Tighten the screws (22).
(f) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connector (21) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (23).
(g) Connect the electrical connector (21) on the proximity sensor (23).
(2) Install the target (31) as follows:
(a) Put the target (31) in position on the target lever (32).
(b) Install the screws (30), the washers (33) and the nuts (34).
(c) Tighten the nuts (34).
C. Rigging of the Proximity Switch
(2) Use the 98D52308002000 CURVED SHIM to measure clearance J1 between the target (31) and the related proximity switch (23).
Subtask 52-71-12-865-055-A CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(1) Close the applicable cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002). (2) Use the 98D52308002000 CURVED SHIM to measure clearance J1 between the target (31) and the related proximity switch (23).
NOTE: Clearance J1 must be between 1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) and 1.8 mm (0.0709 in.).
(3) If clearance J1 is out of tolerance, do the rigging of the proximity switch (23) with the 98D52308002000 CURVED SHIM and the 98D52308001000 GAUGE PROX SENSOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003). D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Operational Test
(1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(2) Do this test to make sure that the proximity switch operates correctly.
(3) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(4) If necessary, adjust the applicable proximity switch (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003).
5. Close-up(1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(2) Do this test to make sure that the proximity switch operates correctly.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR on the applicable cargo door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-400-801).
(3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 52-71-12-410-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR on the applicable cargo door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-400-801).
(3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR, 826BR and 826CR on the applicable cargo door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-400-801).
(3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR, 826BR and 826CR on the applicable cargo door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-400-801).
(3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
