A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the applicable cargo door.
   (3) Make sure that access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-000-801).
Subtask 52-71-12-860-052-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the applicable cargo door.
   (3) Make sure that the inner access panel (12) is removed from the AFT cargo door.

4. Procedure

A. Visual inspection
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Proximity Switch

   (1) Install the proximity sensor (4) as follows:
     (a) Put the proximity sensor (4) in position on the bracket (1) and attach it with the bolts (2), the washers (11) and the nuts (10).
     (b) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (3) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (4).
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (3) on the proximity switch (4).
   (2) Put the target (9) in position on the door handle (6) and attach it with the bolts (5), the washers (7) and the nut (9).

C. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Make sure that the cargo door is correctly locked with the door handle (6) in the recess of the door structure.
   (2) Measure clearance J2 between the target (9) and the proximity switch (4) with the GAGE - FEELER.
NOTE: Clearance J2 must be between 1.60 mm (0.0630 in.) and 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).
   (3) If clearance J2 is out of tolerance, adjust the proximity switch (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-004).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Operational Test
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) Do this test to make sure that the proximity switch operates correctly.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the FWD and/or AFT cargo door(s):
  • Push the handle flap in and pull the door handle away from the cargo door.
On the lower display unit of the ECAM system:
  • The symbol of the applicable cargo door is shown in amber
  • The related message CARGO comes on.
  • Push the door handle down into the recess of the door structure.
  • The symbol for the applicable cargo door changes to green
  • The message CARGO goes off.
   (3) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (4) If necessary, adjust the applicable proximity switch (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-004).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install access panel 825AR or 826AR on the applicable cargo door
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-14-400-801).
   (3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the inner access panel (12) with the screws (14) and the washers (13) on the AFT cargo door.
F Proximity Switches 28WV and 34WV ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (3) Make sure that the applicable cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
