4. Procedure
Subtask 52-51-00-720-051-A
A. Functional Test of the Door Opening Force
   (1) Do this test to make sure that the top, center and bottom latch mechanisms operate satisfactorily.
   (2) Measure the operation force necessary to open the cockpit door with a SPRING BALANCE 10 DAN (24 LBF).
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the Cockpit Door:
On the Cockpit Door:
  • Turn the D-ring of the center latch mechanism through 90 degrees
  • the tenons of the top, center and bottom latch mechanism retract.
  • pull the cockpit door in the open direction.
  • the cockpit door opens

On the cockpit Door Panel 119VU:
  • the OPEN indicator lamp 22MQ comes on.
  • release the D-ring and push the cockpit door in the close direction.
  • the tenons of the top, center and bottom latch mechanism extent and the cockpit door moves in its closed and locked position.
2.On the C/B panel 122VU:
On the Cockpit Door:
  • open the circuit breaker 1MQ so that the CDLS is without electrical power.
  • you can hear a clacking noise from the solenoids of the electrical release strikes because they do not have electrical power.
3.On the Cockpit Door:
On the Cockpit Door:
  • put the spring balance on the center latch mechanism and and pull to measure the force necessary to open the unlocked cockpit door.
  • the cockpit door opens and the operation force must be between 2.0 daN (4.4962 lbf) and 4.0 daN (8.9924 lbf).
4.On the C/B panel 122VU:
On the Cockpit Door:
  • close the circuit breaker 1MQ so that the CDLS has electrical power.
  • you can hear a clacking noise from the solenoids of the electrical release strikes.
5.On the Cockpit Door:
On the Cockpit Door:
  • move the cockpit door in the close direction.
  • the cockpit door is closed and locked.
5. Close-up
