1. Reason for the Job
To adjust the AFT cargo-compartment door immediately after replacement of the door/door components, or if a door malfunction is reported.
NOTE: The values given in this procedure are not applicable for the general inspection/checks

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-32-11-010-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
NOTE: For the door measurement, these conditions are necessary:
  • A/C on landing gears or jacks
  • Cargo compartments unloaded
  • Fuel tanks defueled
  • Air condition system depressurized.
   (1) Make sure that the AFT cargo compartment door (referred to as cargo door) is correctly closed and locked (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the closed cargo door.
   (3) Remove the access panel 826AR from the cargo door.
Subtask 52-32-11-010-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
NOTE: For the door measurement, these conditions are necessary:
  • A/C on landing gears or jacks
  • Cargo compartments unloaded
  • Fuel tanks defueled
  • Air condition system depressurized.
   (1) Make sure that the AFT cargo compartment door (referred to as cargo door) is correctly closed and locked (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the closed cargo door.
   (3) Remove the access panels 826AR and 826BR and the door fairing 826CR from the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-32-11-820-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Lateral Gaps
   (1) Measure the lateral gaps "A" thru "F" between the cargo door and the door frame.
   (2) If these gaps are larger or smaller than permitted, remove the end fitting from the piano hinge area (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
   (3) Change the thickness of the adjustment washers between the two piano hinge halves of FR54A and FR54.
   (4) Make sure that the lateral gaps "A" thru "F" are correct.
   (5) Install the end fittings in the piano hinge area (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
Subtask 52-32-11-820-054-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjustment of the Skin Offset
   (1) Make sure that the stop bolts (13) do not touch the stop fittings (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-31-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the latching hooks (3) at FR53 and FR55A touch the rear of the rollers (4).
   (3) Measure the skin offsets "H" thru "N" between the external contour of the cargo door and the fuselage contour:
  • the skin offsets "H" and "J" must be between 0.9 mm (0.0354 in.) and -3.1 mm (-0.1220 in.).
NOTE: A deviation of 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.) in an area of +/- 150 mm (5.9055 in.) from the measurement point is permitted.
  • the skin offsets "K" and "L" must be between -2.0 mm (-0.0787 in.) and -5.0 mm (-0.1969 in.).
  • the skin offsets "M" and "N" must be between -0.1 mm (-0.0039 in.) and -3.1 mm (-0.1220 in.).
   (4) Adjust the skin offsets "M" and "N" as follows:
NOTE: The other skin offsets are related to the limits of the skin offsets "M" and "N".
     (a) Remove the nuts (9) and the washers (8) from the special bolt (11).
     (b) Remove the serrated plates (2),(10) from the adjusting bush (5) and the eccentric bolt (1).
     (c) Turn the adjusting bush (5) and the eccentric bolt (1) until all skin offsets are correct.
     (d) Install the serrated plates (2), (10) on the eccentric bolt (1) and the adjusting bush (5).
       1 Make sure that the serrated plates are correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-32-400-001).
     (e) Attach the serrated plates (2),(10) with the washers (8) and the nuts (9) to the door frame fitting (12).
     (f) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in ) T.
   (5) Make sure that the clearances between the stop fittings (14) and the heads of the stop bolts (13) are between 0.1 mm (0.0039 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) (
Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-31-400-001).
   (6) Make sure that the clearances between the proximity sensor 32WV and the related target is correctly adjusted (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003).
Subtask 52-32-11-820-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Adjustment of the Lateral Gaps
   (1) Measure the lateral gaps "A" thru "F" between the cargo door and the fuselage.
NOTE: The gap "F" is between the door fairing and the belly fairing.
   (2) If these gaps are larger or smaller than permitted, remove the end fitting from the piano hinge area (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
   (3) Change the thickness of the adjustment washers between the two piano hinge halves of FR57A and FR57.
   (4) Make sure that the lateral gaps "A" thru "F" are correct.
   (5) Install the end fittings in the piano hinge area (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
Subtask 52-32-11-820-054-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Adjustment of the Skin Offset
   (1) Make sure that the stop bolts (13) do not touch the stop fittings (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-31-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the latching hooks (3) at FR56 and FR58A touch the rear of the rollers (4).
   (3) Measure the skin offsets "H" thru "L" between the external contour of the cargo door and the fuselage contour:
  • the skin offsets "H" must be between +0.90 mm (0.0354 in.) and -3.10 mm (-0.1220 in.).
  • the skin offsets "J" must be between +0.90 mm (0.0354 in.) and -3.10 mm (-0.1220 in.).
NOTE: A deviation of maximal 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.) in an area of +/- 150 mm (5.9055 in.) from the measurement point is permitted.
  • the skin offsets "K" must be between +0.39 mm (0.0154 in.) and -2.61 mm (-0.1028 in.).
  • the skin offsets "L" must be between -1.30 mm (-0.0512 in.) and -4.30 mm (-0.1693 in.).
   (4) Adjust the skin offsets "K" and "L" as follows:
NOTE: The other skin offsets are related to the limits of the skin offsets "K" and "L".
     (a) Remove the nuts (9) and the washers (8) from the special bolt (11).
     (b) Remove the serrated plates (2),(10) from the adjusting bush (5) and the eccentric bolt (1).
     (c) Turn the adjusting bush (5) and the eccentric bolt (1) until all skin offsets are correct.
     (d) Install the serrated plates (2),(10) at the eccentric bolt (1) and the adjusting bush (5).
     (e) Attach the serrated plates (2),(10) with the washers (8) and the nuts (9) at the door frame fitting (12).
     (f) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in ) T.
   (5) Make sure that the clearances between the stop fittings (14) and the heads of the stop bolts (13) are between 0.1 mm (0.0039 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) (
Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-31-400-001).
   (6) Make sure that the clearances between the proximity sensor 32WV and the related target is correctly adjusted (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003).
Subtask 52-32-11-820-055-A
E. Adjustment of the Drift Pins
   (1) Open the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) to get access to the fuselage pockets of the drift pins.
   (2) Measure the distance X between the external contour of the cargo door to the flat of the drift pin (16).
   (3) Measure the distance Y between the outer skin of the fuselage and the plate (17) in the fuselage pockets.
   (4) Put shim(s) (15) under the plate (17) until the dimension of the distance Y is the same as the distance X.
NOTE: A tolerance of 0.0 +0.5 mm or -0.0 mm (0.0000 +0.0197 in. or +0.0000 in.) is permitted.
   (5) Close the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
Subtask 52-32-11-220-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Dimensional Check
   (1) Make sure that the clearances that follow are correct:
  • between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4)
NOTE: The permitted clearance between FR 53A and FR55 is 0.2 mm (0.0079 in.).
The clearance between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4) at FR53 and FR55A must be zero.
  • between the bottom of the latching hooks (3) and the rollers (4) at all frames.
NOTE: The clearance must be between 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.).
   (2) Install the access panel 826AR.
   (3) Make sure that the access panel is flush with the fuselage contour of the door sill area.
NOTE: The permitted tolerance of the skin offset is -1.5 mm (-0.0591 in.).
   (4) Make sure that the clearances that follow are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-00-710-001) when the cargo door starts to open:
  • between the latching hooks and the door frame fittings
  • between the latching hooks and the door sill.
   (5) Measure the gap "G" between the access panel of the cargo door and the door sill edge of the fuselage.
Subtask 52-32-11-220-056-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Dimensional Check
   (1) Make sure that the clearances that follow are correct:
  • between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4)
NOTE: The permitted clearance between FR 56A and FR58 is 0.2 mm (0.0079 in.).
The clearance between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4) at FR53 and FR55A must be zero.
  • between the bottom of the latching hooks (3) and the rollers (4) at all frames.
NOTE: The clearance must be between 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.).
   (2) Install the access panels 826AR and 826BR and the door fairing 826CR on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-400-001).
   (3) Make sure that the access panels are flush with the fuselage contour of the door sill area.
NOTE: The permitted tolerance of the skin offset is -1.5 mm (-0.0591 in.).
   (4) Measure the gap "G" between the applicable access panel and the door sill edge of the fuselage.
   (5) Make sure that the clearances that follow are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-00-710-001) when the cargo door starts to open:
  • between the latching hooks and the door frame fittings,
  • between the latching hooks and the door sill.
Subtask 52-32-11-220-056-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Dimensional Check
   (1) Make sure that the clearances that follow are correct:
  • between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4)
NOTE: The permitted clearance between FR 53A and FR55 is 0.2 mm (0.0079 in.).
The clearance between the latching hooks (3) and the rear of the rollers (4) at FR53 and FR55A must be zero.
  • between the bottom of the latching hooks (3) and the rollers (4) at all frames.
NOTE: The clearance must be between 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.).
   (2) Install the access panel 826AR.
   (3) Make sure that the access panel is flush with the fuselage contour of the door sill area.
NOTE: The permitted tolerance of the skin offset is -1.5 mm (-0.0591 in.).
   (4) Do the operational test of the aft cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-00-710-001):
     (a) During the operational test make sure the latching hooks:
  • do not touch the door frame fitting
  • do not touch the door sill.
   (5) Do a check the clearances that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the clearance "G" between the access panel 826AR and the door sill edge of the fuselage is correct.
     (b) Make sure that the clearance "T" between the bottom of the cargo door and the latch fitting is correct.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the cargo door is correctly closed and locked (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
