Installation of the Door Fairings and Access Panels


CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

Open the FWD or Aft Cargo-Compartment Door with the Yellow Electric Pump
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-32-33-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure the AFT cargo compartment door is open and the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) are installed.
   (2) Make sure the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the open cargo door.

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-32-33-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Access Covers 826AR/826BR and the Door Fairings 826CR/826DR
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Put the access covers (21) and (22) on the cargo door and tighten the quick release fasteners (23).
   (5) Install the door fairing (15) as follows:
     (a) Put the door fairing (15) on the fairing fittings (1), (9) and (10) and on the door bracket (8).
     (b) Install the screws (12) and (14) and the washers (11) and (13) to attach the door fairing (15).
   (6) Install the door fairing (7) as follows:
     (a) Put the fairing (7) on the door brackets (2) and (8).
     (b) Install the screws (4) and (6) and the washers (3) and (5) to attach the door fairing (7).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Check of the Door Fairing Position
   (1) Measure the offset and gap between the door fairings and the belly fairing.
   (2) Make sure that the offset and gap dimensions are in the given limits.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
