Door Damper and Emergency Operation Cylinder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Make sure that the 701-2978000 PIN-SAFETY, PAX DOOR DAMPER (14) is installed.
(2) Cut and remove the lockwire from the knurled screw (1).
(3) Release the lever (2).
(4) Remove the possible burr because of the shearing of the pin.
(5) Remove the shear pin (12) with a 1 mm (0.0394 in.) EXTRATOR - PIN DIA 3 MM (0.1 IN) and discard it.
(6) Loosen the knurled screw (1).
(7) Remove the percussion lever (2) from the guide (13). Turn the lever by 90 degrees.
(8) Tighten the knurled screw (1).
(9) Remove the screws (3) and the guide (4).
(10) Remove the packings (5) and the seal (6) from the guide (4) and discard them.
(11) Remove the diaphragm (7), the spring (8) and the spacer (9) from the bore of the housing (11).

A. Get Access
(2) Open the passenger/crew door 831 (841) or 832 (842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
Subtask 52-10-00-865-071-A WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
- THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
- THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
WARNING:
STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in front of the passenger/crew door 831 (841) or 832 (842). - KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
- CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(2) Open the passenger/crew door 831 (841) or 832 (842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Removal of the Components
(1) Remove the lining panels 831FZ (841FZ) and 831GZ (841GZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001) or 832FZ (842FZ) and 832GZ (842GZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002).
(2) Bleed the pressurized bottle with the valve (10) until the pressure gage shows "0".
4. Procedure(1) Remove the lining panels 831FZ (841FZ) and 831GZ (841GZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001) or 832FZ (842FZ) and 832GZ (842GZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002).
(2) Bleed the pressurized bottle with the valve (10) until the pressure gage shows "0".

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT (ALUMINUM) SHEAR PIN ON THE DOOR-DAMPER PERCUSSION DEVICE.
INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECT SHEAR PIN WILL PREVENT OPERATION OF THE ACTUATOR IN THE EMERGENCY MODE.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE CLEAN AND IN THE CORRECT CONDITION. CLEAN OR REPLACE THEM IF NECESSARY. IF THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE DIRTY, CONTAMINATION CAN GO INTO THE FILLING VALVE AND NITROGEN CYLINDER AND CAUSE A NITROGEN LEAK.
A. Removal
Door Damper and Emergency Operation Cylinder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Door Damper and Emergency Operation Cylinder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Cut and remove the lockwire from the knurled screw (1).
(3) Release the lever (2).
(4) Remove the possible burr because of the shearing of the pin.
(5) Remove the shear pin (12) with a 1 mm (0.0394 in.) EXTRATOR - PIN DIA 3 MM (0.1 IN) and discard it.
(6) Loosen the knurled screw (1).
(7) Remove the percussion lever (2) from the guide (13). Turn the lever by 90 degrees.
(8) Tighten the knurled screw (1).
(9) Remove the screws (3) and the guide (4).
(10) Remove the packings (5) and the seal (6) from the guide (4) and discard them.
(11) Remove the diaphragm (7), the spring (8) and the spacer (9) from the bore of the housing (11).
NOTE: Make sure that you remove all the parts in the housing of the striker mechanism.
(12) Discard the diaphragm (7). B. Installation
(2) Clean the removed parts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) .
(3) Dry the parts with BLOWING EQUIPMENT - DRY AIR.
(4) For the FWD passenger/crew doors:
(5) For the aft passenger/crew doors:
(6) Apply Mineral Hydraulic Fluid-Damper - - (Material No.02BBB9) on the new seal (6) and on the new packings (5).
(7) For the FWD passenger/crew doors:
(a) Install the spacer (9), the spring (8), the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-040 DIAPHRAGM (7), the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-030 SEAL (6) and the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-020 PACKINGS (5) in the housing (11) of the percussion mechanism.
(8) For the aft passenger/crew doors:
(a) Install the spacer (9), the spring (8), the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-040 DIAPHRAGM (7), the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-030 SEAL (6) and the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-020 PACKINGS (5) in the housing (11) of the percussion mechanism.
(9) Installation of the guide (4)
(b) Make sure that the tightened spigot of the guide (4) is in the opposite direction of the filling valve (10).
(c) Install the screws (3) and TORQUE them to between 0.16 and 0.14 m.daN (14.16 and 12.39 lbf.in )

(11) Alignment of Release Lever
(12) Install the release lever (2) against the spring load of the valve guide (4) until it can engage into the guide (13).
(13) Make sure that the recess of the knurled screw (1) can fully engage in the rear bore of the release lever (2).
(14) Tighten the knurled screw (1) and safety it and the lever (2) with the14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(15) Fill the nitrogen bottle through the filling valve (10) to the correct pressure (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-614-001).
5. Close-upWARNING:
DO NOT FILL THE DOOR DAMPER AND EMERGENCY OPERATION CYLINDER TO A PRESSURE OF MORE THAN 120 BAR (1740 PSI). TOO MUCH PRESSURE WHEN YOU FILL THE CYLINDER CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE CLEAN AND IN THE CORRECT CONDITION. CLEAN OR REPLACE THEM IF NECESSARY. IF THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE DIRTY, CONTAMINATION CAN GO INTO THE FILLING VALVE AND NITROGEN CYLINDER AND CAUSE A NITROGEN LEAK.
(1) Clean the removed parts with a BRUSH - NON METALLIC, SOFT and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . (2) Clean the removed parts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) .
(3) Dry the parts with BLOWING EQUIPMENT - DRY AIR.
(4) For the FWD passenger/crew doors:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT (ALUMINUM) SHEAR PIN ON THE DOOR-DAMPER PERCUSSION DEVICE.
INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECT SHEAR PIN WILL PREVENT OPERATION OF THE ACTUATOR IN THE EMERGENCY MODE.
(a) Install the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-110 SHEAR PIN (12). (5) For the aft passenger/crew doors:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT (ALUMINUM) SHEAR PIN ON THE DOOR-DAMPER PERCUSSION DEVICE.
INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECT SHEAR PIN WILL PREVENT OPERATION OF THE ACTUATOR IN THE EMERGENCY MODE.
(a) Install the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-110 SHEAR PIN (12). (6) Apply Mineral Hydraulic Fluid-Damper - - (Material No.02BBB9) on the new seal (6) and on the new packings (5).
(7) For the FWD passenger/crew doors:
(a) Install the spacer (9), the spring (8), the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-040 DIAPHRAGM (7), the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-030 SEAL (6) and the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-020 PACKINGS (5) in the housing (11) of the percussion mechanism.
(8) For the aft passenger/crew doors:
(a) Install the spacer (9), the spring (8), the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-040 DIAPHRAGM (7), the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-030 SEAL (6) and the new AIPC 52-13-14-01-020 PACKINGS (5) in the housing (11) of the percussion mechanism.
(9) Installation of the guide (4)
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE GUIDE IN THE CORRECT POSITION BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE SCREWS.
INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE GUIDE CAN PREVENT OPERATION OF THE ACTUATOR IN THE EMERGENCY MODE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE TO THE SCREWS OF THE GUIDE.
OVERTORQUE WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DIAPHRAGM AND WILL THUS CAUSE LEAKAGE OF NITROGEN FROM THE CYLINDER.
(a) Put the guide (4) in position. (b) Make sure that the tightened spigot of the guide (4) is in the opposite direction of the filling valve (10).
(c) Install the screws (3) and TORQUE them to between 0.16 and 0.14 m.daN (14.16 and 12.39 lbf.in )
. NOTE: When the screws (3) are tight, there is a clearance of between 0.3 mm (0.0118 in.) and 0.4 mm (0.0157 in.) between the guide (4) and the percussion housing (11).
(10) Loosen the knurled screw (1). (11) Alignment of Release Lever
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE STRIKER LEVER IS FULLY EXTENDED AND THAT THE KNURLED NUT TOUCHES THE END OF THE LEVER SLOT. A DIFFERENT POSITION WILL PREVENT THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE DOOR DAMPER AND EMERGENCY OPERATION CYLINDER IN THE EMERGENCY MODE.
(a) Make sure that release lever (2) aligns with the flanged nut of the valve guide (4). (12) Install the release lever (2) against the spring load of the valve guide (4) until it can engage into the guide (13).
(13) Make sure that the recess of the knurled screw (1) can fully engage in the rear bore of the release lever (2).
(14) Tighten the knurled screw (1) and safety it and the lever (2) with the
(15) Fill the nitrogen bottle through the filling valve (10) to the correct pressure (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-614-001).

(2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(3) Close the passenger/crew door 831 (841) or 832 (842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(3) Close the passenger/crew door 831 (841) or 832 (842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
