Self-Test of the ECB

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO A SELF-TEST OF THE ECB, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO OTHER MAINTENANCE TASK ON THE APU AT THE SAME TIME. DURING THE SELF-TEST, THE ECB WILL CAUSE THE IGNITION PLUG TO FIRE A NUMBER OF TIMES.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the Electronic Instrument System (EIS) start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) On overhead panel 25VU, push the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch (the ON legend comes on).
(4) Do the procedure to get the SYSTEM/REPORT TEST item APU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGE OF THE AIR-INTAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS IS CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF AIR-INTAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

A. Self-Test of the ECB

ACTION	RESULT
1.On the MCDU: push the pushbutton switch adjacent to the APU indication.	On the MCDU: the APU page is shown.
2.On the MCDU: push the pushbutton switch adjacent to the TEST indication.	On the APU TEST page: the TEST OK is shown if the ECB is serviceable.

Subtask 49-00-00-860-094-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
(2) On overhead panel 25VU, release the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch (the ON legend goes off).
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
