Removal of the Tank Flush Line


WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the access door of the AFT cargo-compartment.
   (3) Remove the access panels 161DW 162DW from the aft wall of the AFT cargo-compartment.

C. Drain the waste-holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001)
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the toilet servicing panel and in the lavatories to tell persons not to use the toilets.

4. Procedure
Subtask 38-31-75-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Tank Flush Line
   (1) Remove the nuts (9), the washers (10) and (12), the screws (13) and the clamps (11).
   (2) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the flush lines to collect the unwanted fluid.
   (3) Remove the flush lines (3) from the connections (4).
   (4) Remove the two check valves (2).
   (5) Remove the flush lines (1) and (5) from the T-shaped union (6).
   (6) Remove the flush line (7) from the connection (8) at the servicing panel and remove the T-shaped union (6).
   (7) Put CAP - BLANKING on:
  • The removed check valves (2)
  • The waste tank connections (4)
  • The disconnected line ends
  • The servicing panel connection (8).
   (8) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
