Installation of the Flush Ring
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG.
DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT.
THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the potable water system.
(4) Make sure that the manual shut-off valve in each lavatory is closed.
Subtask 38-31-66-865-051-A (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

A. Installation of the Flush Ring Assembly
(1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (13).
(2) Put the flush ring (11) and the anti-siphon valve (13) in position.
(3) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-120 PACKING (12).
(4) Put the packing (12) in position between the anti-siphon valve (13) outlet and the flush ring (11) inlet.
(5) Install the washers (7), the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(6) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 35 and 25 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.28 m.daN )
.
(7) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from all the disconnected line end(s).
(8) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-140 PACKING (4).
(9) Put the packing (4) in its installation position.
(10) Place the clamp (5) in its installation position.
(11) Put the flush ring assembly (1) in position on the pedestal (3).
(12) Connect the front clip (9) to the front groove of the pedestal (3).
(13) Engage the quick release fasteners (8).
(14) Install the clamp (5) and lock it.
(15) Make sure that the clamp (5) is locked correctly.
(16) Push the fitting (14) in and install the vent tube (2) in the anti-siphon valve (13).
Subtask 38-31-66-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (13).
(2) Put the flush ring (11) and the anti-siphon valve (13) in position.
(3) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-120 PACKING (12).
(4) Put the packing (12) in position between the anti-siphon valve (13) outlet and the flush ring (11) inlet.
(5) Install the washers (7), the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(6) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 35 and 25 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.28 m.daN )
. (7) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from all the disconnected line end(s).
(8) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-140 PACKING (4).
(9) Put the packing (4) in its installation position.
(10) Place the clamp (5) in its installation position.
(11) Put the flush ring assembly (1) in position on the pedestal (3).
(12) Connect the front clip (9) to the front groove of the pedestal (3).
(13) Engage the quick release fasteners (8).
(14) Install the clamp (5) and lock it.
(15) Make sure that the clamp (5) is locked correctly.
(16) Push the fitting (14) in and install the vent tube (2) in the anti-siphon valve (13).

(2) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-40-040 PACKING (2).
(3) Put the packing (2) in position between the anti-siphon valve (4) outlet and the flush ring (1) inlet.
(4) Put the flush ring (1) in position on the bowl (3).
(5) Install the washers (7), the screws (6) and the nuts (5).
(6) Tighten the nuts (5).
Subtask 38-31-66-420-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (4).
(2) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-40-040 PACKING (2).
(3) Put the packing (2) in position between the anti-siphon valve (4) outlet and the flush ring (1) inlet.
(4) Put the flush ring (1) in position on the bowl (3).
(5) Install the washers (7), the screws (6) and the nuts (5).
(6) Tighten the nuts (5).
A. Installation of the Flush Ring Assembly
(1) For Configuration 1:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (2).
(b) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-080 PACKING (1).
(c) Put the packing (1) in position between the anti-siphon valve (2) outlet and the flush ring (7) inlet.
(d) Put the flush ring (7) in position on the bowl (3).
(e) Install the bolts (6), the washers (4) and the nuts (5).
(f) Tighten the nuts (5).
(2) For Configuration 2:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (10).
(b) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-100 PACKINGS (8).
(c) Install the packings (8) on the ball check fitting (9).
(d) Put the ball check fitting (9) in position.
(e) Put the flush ring (15) in position on the bowl (11).
(f) Install the bolts (14), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(g) Tighten the nuts (13).
Subtask 38-31-66-865-052-A (1) For Configuration 1:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (2).
(b) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to a new AIPC 38-31-41-30-080 PACKING (1).
(c) Put the packing (1) in position between the anti-siphon valve (2) outlet and the flush ring (7) inlet.
(d) Put the flush ring (7) in position on the bowl (3).
(e) Install the bolts (6), the washers (4) and the nuts (5).
(f) Tighten the nuts (5).
(2) For Configuration 2:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, PLASTIC from the open end of the anti-siphon valve (10).
(b) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-41-30-100 PACKINGS (8).
(c) Install the packings (8) on the ball check fitting (9).
(d) Put the ball check fitting (9) in position.
(e) Put the flush ring (15) in position on the bowl (11).
(f) Install the bolts (14), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(g) Tighten the nuts (13).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
