3. Job Set-up
Subtask 36-11-49-860-095-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that engine 1(2) is shutdown for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (the OFF legend is on)
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (the ON legend is off)
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (4) In the cockpit, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
   (5) On the HP ground connector:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
   (6) In the cockpit, on the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton-switch is off
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the engine.
   (8) Make sure that these access panels are removed:
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-49-420-097-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Starter Valve Elbow-Duct and the Precooler Exchanger Tee-Duct in the Pylon
   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (6) Install the starter valve elbow-duct as follows:
     (a) Put a new AIPC 36-11-06-02-040 SEAL (14) in position on the duct (13).
     (b) Put the duct (13) and the support (11) in position in the pylon.
NOTE: The arrow which shows the direction of the air flow points down.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SCREWS OF THE ATTACHMENT CLAMPS ON THE OVERPRESSURE VALVE ARE IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, THE SCREWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL OF THE THRUST REVERSER COWL.
     (c) Install the clamp (12) on the duct (13) but do not fully tighten it.
     (d) Install the bolts (9) and the washers (10) in the support (11) and tighten the bolts (9).
   (7) Install the precooler exchanger tee-duct as follows:
     (a) Put the duct (1) in position in the pylon.
NOTE: The arrow which shows the direction of the air flow points up.
     (b) Install the clamps.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE SCREWS OF THE ATTACHMENT CLAMPS ON THE OVERPRESSURE VALVE ARE IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT, THE SCREWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL OF THE THRUST REVERSER COWL.
     (c) Put the clamps (6), (7) and (8) in position in the duct (1).
     (d) TORQUE the clamp (6) to between 0.8 and 0.76 m.daN (70.80 and 67.26 lbf.in )
T, and the clamps (7), (8) and (12) to between 0.9 and 0.78 m.daN (79.65 and 69.03 lbf.in ) T.
Subtask 36-11-49-720-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Do this test
   (1) Remove the warning notice from the HP ground connector.
   (2) Connect an air source to the HP ground connector.
   (3) On the AIR COND control panel 30VU, set the X BLEED selector to OPEN.
   (4) Supply a stable pressure of 2.07 bar (30 psi) to the HP ground connector.
   (5) Make sure that there are no leaks at the connections of the ducts on the related engine.

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
