Removal of the Sense Line between the Bleed Pressure-Regulator Valve (PRV) and the Pylon Interface
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE CORRECT PLUG TO DO THE REGULATION FUNCTION OF PRV P/N 6774G010000. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE CORRECT PLUG, THERE IS A RISK OF OVERPRESSURE AND/OR POSSIBLE DUAL BLEED LOSS.

A. Removal of the Sense Line between the Bleed PRV and the Pylon Interface
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Attach the clamp (8) on the sense line (3).
(5) Remove the plug (9) from the storage port (10) of the pylon interface.
(6) Disconnect the sense line (3) between the port (11) of the pylon interface and the port (2) of the valve (1) as follows:
(a) Loosen the pneumatic unions a quarter turn with a WRENCH - STANDARD.
(b) Remove the unions with your hand to prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line.
(c) Disconnect and remove the sense line (3).
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) Clean the threads of the port (11) with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) .
(8) Apply lubricating material in the pylon interface port (11) before installation of the plug (9) to prevent clogging as follows:
(9) Put the plug (9) in position on the port (11) of the pylon interface.
.
(11) Remove the plug (5) from the storage port (4) of the valve (1).
(12) Clean the threads of the port (2) with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) .
(13) Apply lubricating material in the valve port (2) before installation of the plug (5) to prevent clogging as follows.
(14) Put the plug (5) in position on the port (2) of the valve (1).
(15) TORQUE the plug (5) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Remove the screw (6), washer (7) and nut (12) from the valve (1).
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU APPLY LUBRICANT, PUT TAPE ON THE UNION HOLES OF THE VALVE AND THE PYLON INTERFACE TO PREVENT LUBRICANT CONTAMINATION OF THE PNEUMATIC CONNECTION.
CAUTION:
APPLY ONLY A THIN LAYER OF GREASE TO THE THREADS OF THE HOSE-ASSEMBLY COUPLING NUTS, AND REMOVE THE UNWANTED GREASE TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH GREASE, IT CAN CAUSE CLOGGING OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY OR DAMAGE TO THE RELATED COMPONENTS.
(a) Apply a thin layer of Dry lubricant-General Assembly Molybdenum Disulfide & Silicone - (Material No.03QBC1) or Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the union (11). (9) Put the plug (9) in position on the port (11) of the pylon interface.
WARNING:
TIGHTEN THE PLUG(S) TO THE CORRECT TORQUE VALUE. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM SUFFICIENTLY, HOT AIR LEAKAGE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(10) TORQUE the plug (9) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU APPLY LUBRICANT, PUT TAPE ON THE UNION HOLES OF THE VALVE AND THE PYLON INTERFACE TO PREVENT LUBRICANT CONTAMINATION OF THE PNEUMATIC CONNECTION.
CAUTION:
