A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the special precautions when you work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the emergency oxygen system.
   (4) On all of the emergency oxygen containers, set the test button to the TEST position.

A. Operational Test of the Manual Mask Release and Cabin Pressure Controllers
   (1) Do the operational test of the manual mask release:
NOTE: If the PRAM or I-PRAM is installed, the operator can record an emergency announcement. You can hear the emergency announcement through the passenger address system only if it is recorded. Additional information can be found in Para. System Description (Ref. AMM D/O 23-32-00-00).
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the overhead panel 21VU:
  • Lift the switch guard and push the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch.
In the cabin:
  • The door of all the emergency oxygen containers open in all areas of the cabin.

In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the overhead panel 21VU:
  • The SYS ON light comes on.

On the passenger address system:
  • The emergency announcement starts (if installed).
NOTE: The emergency announcement stops automatically when the recorded announcement is completed.
2.In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • After 15 seconds push the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.
In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the overhead panel 21VU:
  • The SYS ON light goes off.

In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • The ON light on the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on for a short time and goes off again.
   (2) Do the operational test of the cabin pressure controller (Ref. AMM TASK 21-31-00-710-002).

A. Operational Test of the Manual Mask Release and Cabin Pressure Controllers
   (1) Do the operational test of the manual mask release:

  • After 15 seconds push the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.

On the EWD:
  • The OXY PAX ON indicator goes of.

In the cockpit on the OXYGEN section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • The ON light on the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on for a short time and goes off again.
   (2) Do the operational test of the cabin pressure controller (Ref. AMM TASK 21-31-00-710-002).
5. Close-up
Subtask 35-23-00-860-076-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the switch guard is in position over the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch.
   (2) Close all the door of the emergency oxygen containers:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
     (a) Push the door of the emergency oxygen containers to the closed position.
     (b) Push the door of the emergency oxygen containers, at both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
     (c) Make sure that the doors of the emergency oxygen container are flush with the adjacent panels.
   (3) Turn all the test buttons to the normal position and release them.
NOTE: Spring tension retracts the test buttons when they are in the normal position.
   (4) Install a LABEL - ADHESIVE, "INOP" on the altitude switch [16WR] .
   (5) Make an applicable entry in a logbook.
   (6) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU:
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (7) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
