3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-49-51-941-053-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position:
  • In the cockpit, on right center-instrument-panel 400VU, to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control-lever.
  • On the steering handwheel (CAPT and F/O) and on the brake pedals, to tell persons not to operate them.
   (2) Install the safety devices on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (2) On parking brake panel 110VU, make sure that the PARK BRK control switch is in the OFF position.
   (3) Make sure that the wheel chocks are in position.
   (4) Lift the aircraft at the forward jacking point (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
   (5) Remove the NLG wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-12-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-49-51-020-053-A
A. Removal of the Non-TPIS Kit
   (1) Remove upper electrical harness 1M (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-43-000-002).
   (2) Disconnect the rod (25):
     (a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (28).
     (b) Remove the nut (27), the washer (29) and the bolt (26).
     (c) Disconnect the rod (25) from the support.
   (3) Remove the cover (1):
     (a) Remove and discard the nut (5).
     (b) Remove the washer (6) and the spacer (2).
     (c) Hold the cover (1) in position.
     (d) Remove the bolt (4), the second spacer (2) and the lockwasher (3).
     (e) Discard the lockwasher (3).
     (f) Remove the screw (11).
     (g) Remove and discard the lockwasher (12).
     (h) Lift the cover (1) and disengage it from the pin (10).
     (i) Remove the cover (1).
   (4) Remove the blanking plug (7) from the torque link pin (13) of the leg structure:
     (a) Remove and discard the nut (8).
     (b) Remove the washer (9) from the pin (10).
     (c) Remove the pin (10).
     (d) Remove the blanking cap (7) from the torque link pin (13).
       1 Make sure that the torque link pin (13) stays in position.
     (e) Clean the pin (10) with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and dry it with AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
     (f) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the pin (10).
     (g) Align the holes with the J47125 POSITIONING PIN and engage the pin (10).
     (h) Install the washer (9) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-43-010 NUT (8) or the new AIPC 32-21-11-23-010 NUT (8).
     (i) TORQUE the nut (8) to between 20 and 17 m.N (14.75 and 12.54 lbf.ft )
T.
     (j) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.
06ABA1) on the interface between the pin (10) and the gear leg.
     (k) Put the cover (1) in position on the pin (10).
     (l) Install the screw (11) and the new AIPC 32-21-11-51-470 LOCKWASHER (12) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-080 LOCKWASHER (12) or AIPC 32-21-11-91-470 LOCKWASHER (12) or AIPC 32-21-11-11-080 LOCKWASHER (12).
     (m) Tighten the screw (11) and safety it with the lockwasher (12).
     (n) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.
06ABA1) around the nut (8).
   (5) Connect the rod (25):
     (a) Connect the rod (25) to the support.
     (b) Install the bolt (26), the washer (29) and the nut (27).
     (c) TORQUE the nut (27) to between 7.5 and 6 m.N (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
     (d) Safety the nut (27) with the new
AIPC 32-21-11-52-080 COTTER PINS (28) or the new AIPC 32-21-11-12-080 COTTER PIN (28).
   (6) Remove the bushes (20) from the wheel axle ends:
     (a) Remove and discard the four cotter pins (24).
     (b) Remove the four nuts (23) and the four washers (22).
     (c) Remove and discard the four bolts (21).
     (d) Remove the bushes (20).
   (7) Remove the plug (14) or (19) from the TPIS harness installation-hole in the shock absorber:
     (a) Remove the sealant between the sliding rod and the plug (14) or (19) with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the cotter pin (18) and the nut (17).
     (c) Discard the cotter pin (18).
     (d) Remove the first washer (15).
     (e) Remove the bolt (16), the second washer (15) and the plug (14) or (19).
