3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-46-00-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the panel 400VU, make sure that the L/G normal control lever is set to DOWN.
   (2) On the panel 402VU, make sure that the A/SKID & NOSE WHEEL switch is at ON.
   (3) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (4) On the MCDU, get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST L/G page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-009).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the L/G normal control lever to tell persons not to move it.

A. Selection of the BSCU Pin-Programming
   (1) Do a visual check of the brakes and main tires and record the information (tire size, brake manufacturer) if you could not get these data from the last BSCU installation (LRU IDENTIFICATION page).

NOTE: If you are not sure, always refer to the latest approved wheel and brake configuration applicable to the aircraft.

NOTE: The PIN-PROG SELECTION page can be different for the different BSCU standard (some selections cannot be found). You will find below some information to understand all the selections.

NOTE: Pin programming selection:
First page

MCDU key [1L]: 46" A319/A320 MBFG: applicable for A319 and A320 aircraft installed with 46" tires and MESSIER BUGATTI or GOODRICH wheels and brakes.

MCDU key [1R]: A319/A320 MBFG 49": applicable for A320 aircraft installed with 49" tires and MESSIER BUGATTI or GOODRICH wheels and brakes.

MCDU key [2L]: 46" A319/A320 MBFG-ANA: applicable for ANA fleet A320 aircraft installed with 46" tires and MESSIER BUGATTI or GOODRICH wheels and brakes.

NOTE: You must do the pin programming selection on two systems BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 and BSCU CHAN/SYS 2.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 indication.
  • The BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 page comes into view.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the PIN-PROG SELECTION indication.
  • The BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 PIN-PROG SELECTION page comes into view.
3.Push the line key adjacent to the aircraft pin programming of the BSCU in relation to the type of brakes and tires related to the aircraft pin programming.
  • The BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 PIN PROGRAMMING MESSAGE page comes into view and gives instructions.
  • Make sure that the PIN-PROG SELECT ACCEPTED message comes into view.
    If the CAUTION indication comes into view, push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication and do again step 3.
    If the CAUTION indication comes into view again, do a check of the aircraft pin programming ASM 324202.
4.On panel 402VU, set A/SKID & NOSE WHEEL switch 5GG to OFF then to ON.

5.Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication to get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST L/G page.

6.Push the line key adjacent to the BSCU CHAN/SYS 2 indication.

7.Do the same actions as in Para. 2. 3. and 4.
  • Same results as for BSCU CHAN/SYS 1.

  • The BSCU CHAN/SYS 1 PIN PROGRAMMING MESSAGE page comes into view and gives instructions.
  • Make sure that the PIN-PROG SELECT ACCEPTED message comes into view.

Subtask 32-46-00-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
