Subtask 32-40-00-010-052-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the access doors, the access panels and the doors of the nose and main landing gears. (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001)
Subtask 32-40-00-860-054-A
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) If you think that there are any leaks in a brake system, pressurize the system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-40-00-210-051-B
A. Check of the Brake System
   (1) Full check
     (a) Do a check of the attach and hinge fittings.
Make sure that:
  • they are installed correctly,
  • they are safetied correctly (with the cotter pins, the tabwashers, the lockwashers and the lockwire),
  • that the pins, the screws, the nuts and the washers do not show signs of corrosion.
     (b) Make sure that the torque tubes of brake units do not show signs of corrosion. If corrosion is found on the torque tube, the related brake unit must be removed from the aircraft, cleaned and repaired as per CMM manufacturer.
     (c) Make sure that the identification labels are installed correctly.
     (d) Make sure that the bonding braids are in the correct condition.
   (2) Check of the hydraulic hoses
     (a) If a collar has a data which shows the month and the year of the limit of the life of the collar, examine this date and if it is expired you must replace the hose.
     (b) Make sure that the clamps have the correct diameter. Make sure that they are correctly installed and that they are in the correct condition. Make sure that the clamps are not worn because they are not installed correctly, because of the vibration or the pressure surge.
     (c) Examine the routing of the hoses.
  • Make sure that the hoses do not rub against other hoses and lines, partitions or units.
  • Make sure that the hoses are not twisted.
  • Make sure that the play of the hose is sufficient. To do this move the middle of the hose up and down.
   (3) Check of the hydraulic lines
     (a) Make sure that there is no distortion, that there are no cracks that start. Make sure that there are no signs of shock, specially on the elbows and the bends of the lines and on the connection point with other units.
     (b) Make sure that the conduit rails or the metal parts cannot damage the lines in their housings.
     (c) Make sure that there are no leaks of hydraulic fluid on the connectors. Make sure that they are safetied correctly.
     (d) Make sure that the mountings, the clamp blocks of the lines and the attachment collars are installed correctly.
   (4) Check of the hydraulic units
     (a) Make sure that the units are installed correctly.
Make sure that there are no leaks on the hydraulic connectors.
     (b) Make sure that the electrical connections are in the correct condition.
   (5) Check of the electrical wiring
     (a) Make sure that the electrical connectors are installed correctly and that they are safetied correctly.
     (b) Make sure that the electrical connectors do not have any contamination from the hydraulic fluids. If it is necessary, clean them.
     (c) Make sure that the wiring is fully protected and that it is in the correct condition.
   (6) Check of the nose landing gear
Make sure that these components are installed correctly and that they are in the correct condition:
  • the electrical harnesses,
  • the connectors and plugs,
   (7) Check of the main landing gear
Make sure that these components are installed correctly and that they are in the correct condition:
  • the hydraulic lines (clamps),
  • the electrical harnesses,
  • do a visual inspection to make sure that there are no signs of ageing, overheating, flaking and deformation,
  • the connectors and plugs (tachometers).
   (8) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid:
  • on the unions and the points where the lines connect with the units,
  • on the supply lines,
  • on the connecting blocks,
  • on the servo valve,
  • on the brakes (the bleed screws, the points where the lines connect with the units and the pistons).
   (9) Examine the connections of the wiring of the temperature sensor on the aft face of each brake assembly.
5. Close-up
Subtask 32-40-00-860-055-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 32-40-00-410-050-A
B. Close Access
   (1) CLose the access doors, the access panels and the doors of the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
   (2) If removed, install the brakes (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-27-400-001) or (Ref. AMM D/O 32-42-27-40).
   (3) If removed, install the wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-400-006).
