Installation of the Lockstay Actuator Hoses

MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.

MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
(5) Make sure that you obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system.
Subtask 32-11-22-860-051-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(5) Make sure that you obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow and Green Hydraulic Systems are de-pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable side-stay, at zone 733 or 743.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow and Green Hydraulic Systems are de-pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable side-stay, at zone 733 or 743.
Subtask 32-11-22-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new packing (12) and (18) and the new backup retainers (11) and (17).

(4) Install the hoses (1) and (10) on the lockstay actuator.
(5) Install the washers (13) and (16) and the bolts (14) and (15).
(6) TORQUE the bolts (14) and (15) to between 0.45 and 0.29 m.daN (39.82 and 25.66 lbf.in )

(7) Safety the bolts (14) and (15) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(8) Install the washers (2) and (9) on the hoses (1) and (10).
(9) Put the hoses (1) and (10) in the bracket assembly.
(10) Install the washers (3) and (8) and the nuts (4) and (7) on the hoses (1) and (10).
(11) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 17 and 14 m.N (12.54 and 10.32 lbf.ft )

(13) Connect the pipes (5) and (6) to the hoses (1) and (10).

(17) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) to the heads of the bolts (14) and (15).

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected line ends. NOTE: You must install each of the hoses in the correct location. There is only one location for each hose to be installed correctly. The LH/RH hoses are not interchangeable.
(2) Use the 460005171-95 POST-ASSEMBLY and install the AIPC 32-11-22-01-060 BACKUP RETAINER (11) and the AIPC 32-11-22-01-050 PACKING (12) on the hose (10). (3) Use the 460005171-95 POST-ASSEMBLY and install the AIPC 32-11-22-01-060 BACKUP RETAINER (17) and the AIPC 32-11-22-01-050 PACKING (18) on the hose (1).
(4) Install the hoses (1) and (10) on the lockstay actuator.
(5) Install the washers (13) and (16) and the bolts (14) and (15).
(6) TORQUE the bolts (14) and (15) to between 0.45 and 0.29 m.daN (39.82 and 25.66 lbf.in )

(4) Install the hoses (1) and (2) on the lockstay actuator.
(5) Install the washers (5) and (8) and the bolts (6) and (7).
(6) TORQUE the bolts (6) and (7) to between 0.45 and 0.29 m.daN (39.82 and 25.66 lbf.in )

C. Functional Test of the MLG Lockstay Actuating Cylinder
(a) Install the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-480-001).
(b) Do a functional test of the MLG Lockstay Actuating Cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-007).
(c) Remove the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-080-001).
(2) If the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL is not available:
(a) Do a functional test of the Normal Extension and Retraction of the L/G (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-002).
Subtask 32-11-22-790-050-A NOTE: If the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL is used, the aircraft can stay on wheels for the functional test.
(1) If the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL is available: (a) Install the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-480-001).
(b) Do a functional test of the MLG Lockstay Actuating Cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-007).
(c) Remove the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-080-001).
