A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Prepare the media disk(s).
(1) Get the media disk(s) from the storage box in the cockpit.
(2) Make sure that the Part Number (P/N) on the media disk(s) is(are) the same as the P/N given in the airline configuration management document.
(3) If the media disk(s) is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct part number(s) applicable to the aircraft.

C. Installation of the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
(1) On the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
(2) On center pedestal 11VU, on the Data Loading Selector Unit (DLSU):

Remove the PDL plug cap from the data loader connector on the front face of the DLSU.
Connect the PDL cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and to the data loader connector on the front face of the DLSU.

G. Check of the Database Software Number before the Uploading into the DLSU

ACTION	RESULT
1.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.	On the display of the DLSU the indication that follows comes into view: DB/N:XXXXXXXXXX PUSH PREV/NEXT. NOTE: The XXXXXXXXXX indication is the existing database software PN installed in the DLSU. Default value: '----------'.

(1) Make sure that the database software number given on the LCD screen of the DLSU is different from the digits of the software P/N reference on the media disk(s).

G. Check of the Database Software Number before the Uploading into the DLSU

ACTION	RESULT
1.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.	On the display of the DLSU the indication that follows comes into view: DB/N:XXXXXXXXXX PUSH PREV/NEXT. NOTE: The XXXXXXXXXX indication is the existing database software PN installed in the DLSU. Default value: '----------'.

(1) Make sure that the database software PN shown on the LCD display of the DLSU is different from the database software PN given by the airline configuration-management document.

4. Procedure
Subtask 31-38-00-610-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Uploading of the Database of the DLSU

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, it can send two messages:

One message, if the PDL detects that the software has no signature. You can ignore this message, because it has no effect on the aircraft software uploading, or
One message, if the PDL detects an incorrect or corrupt signature. If this occurs, the software uploading is not possible and you must use a different software.
Because of data security, Airbus recommends that you send a report of the fault to the aircraft-security focal point.

ACTION	RESULT
1.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Push the NEXT key.	The DLSU starts the self-test.
2.Make sure that no error message comes into view.	On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view: STANDBY PUSH PREV/NEXT.
3.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the DLSU indication.	On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view: DLSU NOT SELECTED.
4.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Push the SEL key.	On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view: DLSU SELECTED. NOTE: If no PDL is connected, the indication that follows comes into view: CONNECT PDL PUSH SEL.
5.On the PDL: Start the uploading from the PDL (refer to the PDL user guide for more information).
6.Make sure that you upload all the necessary software from all the media disk.
7.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Push the SEL key.	On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view: DLSU NOT SELECTED.
	On center pedestal 11VU, on the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view: DB/N:ZZZZZZZZZZ PUSH NEXT/PREV. NOTE: The ZZZZZZZZZZZ indication is the database software P/N installed in the DLSU.
8.On the display of the DLSU: Make sure that the database software P/N shown on the DLSU display is the same as the database software P/N written on the media disk(s).
9.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU: Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.	On the display of the DLSU, the indication goes out of view.

Subtask 31-38-00-080-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the PDL
(1) Stop the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER (refer to PDL user guide).
(2) On center pedestal 11VU:

Disconnect the PDL cable from the PDL and from the data loader connector on the front face of the DLSU.
Install the PDL plug cap on the data loader connector on the front face of the DLSU.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Put the media disk(s) back into the storage box in the cockpit.
