WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-21-49-941-108-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Remove the segment shroud 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-000-801), if necessary.
   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-020-091-A
A. Removal of the Anti-Ice Ducts and Insulation Blankets
   (1) Install protective covers and protective caps on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and connectors.
   (2) Remove the anti-ice duct section (7) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut and disconnect the indicating tube (1) from the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (b) Cut the two tie down straps (6) and remove the upper and lower insulation blankets (4) and (5) at the forward end of the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (c) Cut the two tie down straps (81) and remove the upper and lower insulation blankets (11) and (12) at the aft end of the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (d) Open and remove the V-band clamp (3) at the forward end of the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (e) Open and remove the V-band clamp (13) at the aft end of the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (f) Remove the two bolts (10) that attach the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (7) to the support bracket (9).
     (g) Remove the anti-ice duct section (7) from the nacelle.
     (h) Remove and discard the E-seal (20) from the anti-ice duct section (7).
     (i) Remove and discard the E-seal (2) from the inlet (8).
   (3) If necessary, remove the insulation blankets from the anti-ice duct section (7), as follows:
     (a) Cut the 18 tie down straps (83).
     (b) Remove the insulation blankets (71), (72), (73), (74), (75) and (76).
   (4) Remove the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
     (a) Cut the two tie down straps (82) and remove the upper and lower insulation blankets (16) and (15) from near the forward end of the anti-ice duct section (14).
     (b) Remove the two bolts (17) and the retaining strap (18) from the support bracket (19).
     (c) Open and remove the V-band clamp (26) to disconnect the anti-ice duct section (14) from the anti-ice duct section (24).
     (d) Remove the four bolts (27) that attach the flange on the anti-ice duct section (14) to the support plate.
     (e) Carefully cut the bead of sealant between the anti-ice duct section (14) and the support plate.
     (f) Remove the two nuts (21) and the two bolts (23) that attach the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (14) to the support bracket (22).
     (g) To make the anti-ice duct section (24) flexible, remove the two bolts (28) and the two washers (29) from the bracket (30).
     (h) Remove the anti-ice duct section (14) from the nacelle.
     (i) Remove and discard the E-seal (25) from the anti-ice duct section (24).
   (5) If necessary, remove the insulation blankets from the anti-ice duct section (14) as follows:
     (a) Cut the 10 tie down straps (84).
     (b) Remove the insulation blankets (77), (78), (79) and (80).
   (6) Remove the anti-ice duct section (38) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut and disconnect the indicating tube (50) from the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (b) Remove the aft Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-804).
     (c) Remove the forward NAI valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-805).
     (d) Remove the two bolts (33) that attach the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38) to the support bracket (34).
     (e) Loosen the coupling nut and disconnect the indicating tube (49) from the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (f) Remove the nut (39) and the bolt (44), then move the support link (43) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (g) Remove the nut (35) and the bolt (37), then move the support link (36) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (h) Remove the nut (32) and the bolt (45), then move the support link (31) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (i) Remove the nut (51) and the bolt (48), then move the support link (52) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (38).
     (j) Remove the anti-ice duct section (38) from the engine.
     (k) If necessary, remove the support link (52) from the bracket (46):
       1 Remove the nut (53) and the bolt (47).
       2 Remove the support link (52) from the engine.
     (l) If necessary, remove the support link (43) from the bracket (41):
       1 Remove the nut (40) and the bolt (42).
       2 Remove the support link (43) from the engine.
   (7) Remove the anti-ice duct section (54) as follows:
     (a) If the anti-ice duct section (54) is removed and the aft NAI valve and/or the forward NAI valve and/or the anti-ice duct section (38) is/are installed:
       1 You must remove the full NAI system until the forward NAI valve and install again.
     (b) Make sure that the forward NAI valve is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-805). It is necessary to get correct access with tools.
     (c) Remove the nut (55) and the bolt (58), then remove the support link (31) from the engine.
     (d) Remove the nut (64) and the bolt (59), then move the support link (63) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (54).
     (e) Remove the nut (71) and the bolt (69), then move the support link (70) away from the bracket on the anti-ice duct section (54).
     (f) Remove the four bolts (56) that attach the anti-ice duct section (54) to the engine case.
     (g) Remove the anti-ice duct section (54) from the engine.
     (h) Remove and discard the E-seal (57) from the anti-ice duct section (54).
     (i) If necessary, remove the support link (70) from the bracket (66):
       1 Remove the nut (68), the bushing (67) and the bolt (65).
       2 Remove the support link (70) from the engine.
     (j) If necessary, remove the support link (63) from the bracket (61):
       1 Remove the nut (62) and the bolt (60).
       2 Remove the support link (63) from the engine.
